I hated the 1st season and quit watching it. I thought it was largely cliche and only got made because John Singleton's (overrated) name was attached. The only good parts dealt with Franklin. But from what I gather, it got much better in the later seasons as it started to focus more on Franklin. Don't know if they had a writer and/or director change, but the show got better based on people I know that have watched it and places that I read about it. Its back on my watch list to burn thru one day.

I guess the TLDR version is if you haven't seen it, season 1 isn't that good (not bad but not good) but if you stick with it, it gets a lot better. It doesn't reinvent the drug/crime story genre, but they do it well.

I can see that. I was in the middle of 3 different stories in Season 1. I found myself only liking the Franklin parts as well. Of course as the seasons go, everything ties in together for the most part.

As far as Singleton - there was a show that the credits added For John. I think he passed away during that season.

He did. He died some time during Season 1 I think, maybe season 2

A very fitting ending.

I never liked any of the characters Michael Hyatt has played, which probably means she's a great actress, and the ending of Snowfall did not change it.
