I would easily give up a 1st round pick for Fitzpatrick. You can line that dude pretty much anywhere in the 2ndary and we wouldn't be on the hook for any of his guaranteed signing bonus. Jenkins is old and McLeod is nothing special at Safety. Fitz would solidify that position for the future as well as cover slot receivers when needed.

I voted no as I just don’t see a first round being needed. Not because I’m not interested. I’m very interested in what this kids utility can bring to our weak secondary.

No doubt Howie is picking up the phone. Just don’t feel like they (or possibly anyone) is ready to throw a 1st.

It would be amazing if we could get him for one of our two 3rds next year, including a player, and maybe we throw in a later round swap (5th for 6th as example) to sweeten it just enough.

Challenge I see here is Miami likely doesn’t have high priority on players. They want picks. Let’s see what Howie can do. We know he is the man at getting a good deal from Miami. And he could use a good coup as I honestly think he has botched the comp formulas this off-season.

Although....just reading a little more the first rounder might not be the worst idea. If we are picking 21 or later (possible) than we would be getting Fitz as a sophomore player with MUCH more talent than we could get from a late first round pick.

Plus....Sendejo could be sent packing and recoup a 4th next year, correcting some of that comp formula mis management I’ve seen. We would not lose a pick next year, just late first to fourth value for this talent? I’m warming up to it.

I would make that deal in a second. I would even throw in a depth player or another pick just to get him. I would suspect multiple teams will be looking into this, perhaps the Cowboys?

If he is a first round talent I would give up a first round pick if we do not have to give up players. That is a fair enough trade considering we should be drafting in the late 20's

We wouldn't be on the hook for "any" of his prorated signing bonus, yet still have the option to pick up his 5th year. That's an awesome deal for a 2nd year player who has already proven he belongs and looks like he can be a top DB in the league once fully developed. With draft picks you just never know ... especially in the 20's; we can luck out with a player like Andre Dillard falling in your lap, but you can also just as easily draft a bench guy there.

We'd better be picking a lot later than 21. Should be #30, 31, or 32. Especially due to getting Minka,

There is no way that they will trade a 1 for a safety.

Minka can play the Corner, Slot, and both Safety positions.
We should have gotten Clowney, so I wish Howie will get this guy. Our D, needs reinforcement.
I'd hate to come close at the end, wishing we made a deal or two.

Yeah. I’m trying to shake the feeling too. The Eagles have undervalued that position for a long time. But maybe this is another part of showing they are not that eagles team any more.

Also....he’s a bit more than a Safety.
