Yeah, I noticed that too. Kind of sucks, I usually download everything to my D: drive because I don't want to use the SSD (C: ) for storage, just the OS and applications...

Yeah, but I want to direct it where to go - say /drivers/asus/p8z68/bios if I'm downloading a bios for my motherboard. Now I gotta play mailman after all my downloading and start sorting. Sorry, that's kind of a biggie for me.

I understand that, that's why I like Maxthon's downloader. It keeps a list of all download locations I have used and includes a browse option if I decide I want a folder I haven't used before to send a download to.

BTW: I hope you all have used KeyFinder to get your new product key after the upgrade and printed it out, stored on USB or something, and put in a safe place (that you hope you can find if you need it.) :D

I upgraded an OEM version - perhaps that is it. I actually like the concept. Makes it easy. Unless I change the CPU and/or Motherboard that is.

Produkey does grab the win 10 key just fine. I did grab mine and save it to a different drive.

Same as one of the ones you posted, but I assure you I upgraded from a fully licensed retail version.

Hey TP, you can tag him with the @ sign and his user name...
Not necessary on this board. I get an alert for anything put on this one. Slow enough that it doesn't drive you nuts. Couldn't imagine doing that for the college football or NFL general boards lol

Maybe because KS is an insider? I really don't know why some are getting unique and some are getting generic.

I kept forgetting to check this board and it would be days with none of us responding so I turned on notifications, but just this board. Well this one and the UW board. Another one with pretty much no traffic.

Not sure that it matters much as long as it works any time we need to reformat/reinstall. Worst case I have to install 8.1 again first and reupgrade.

Nope, I quit testing for Microsoft back in 2005. Was a member of the Tech Net and Developers program for almost 15 years. They still send me e-mail wanting me to get back on their current programs though.
I was pissed when technet's file repository went down and haven't done shit for them since. Trial versions doesn't really cut it for the lab work those bastards.

I was going to donate this one to the Linux farm eventually (2 years). Build another, and tell MS I changed a few things (like all of it) LOL Maybe I'll put the old NIC in it so it has one common component.
