Positives:

Thomas Rawls -
Rawls was successful in his return to game play, and I expect to see a lot of Rawls today. Tampa is 23rd against the run, and Rawls has been used in the pass game this season as well. Look for Rawls to have a huge role in the offense, as Seattle tries to get more physical in their run game.

Russell Wilson - If the Bucs are bad against the run, they're even worse against the pass. Wilson has been heating up, and Tampa may be the worst D the Hawks will have faced this season. 270 yards with 2 TDs seems to be the minnimum to expect with how Wilson has been playing and what Tampa has been able to stop.

Jimmy Graham - Travis Kelce caught 7 for 108 yards last week - and that's a TE without any other big offensive pass catching weapon. Graham should get a lot of attention this week, either as an offensive weapon or a decoy to get other receivers open - just depends on how Tampa plays him.

Negatives:

Injuries -
We all know who's missing from the Seahawks line up - and they're some pretty important players to our offensive schemes. Thomas, Shead and Bennett all being out on D will hurt - but we have Moore, Coyle and Pierre-Louis all possibly out (or limited) today. Britt and Fant are both questionable, and if both can't go, that could hurt.

Jameis Winston - Inconsistent and young, but when Winston is on - he can really throw the ball around the field. With the depleted secondary, Winston will try to throw the ball around. He'll throw picks every once in a while - but he'll also make plays.

Matchups:

Richard Sherman v. Mike Evans -
Evans seems to be the only receiver that Winston trusts, and with Shead out Sherman may following him around the field (and fans seem to agree that is what will happen). This will give Sherman a lot of opportunities to defend pass attempts - and though he may sometimes give up some catches, if you keep throwing at him, Sherman will make you pay. The last time Sherman had 4 interceptions in the first 10 games of a season, he ended the year with 8.

Doug Baldwin v. Brent Grimes - Last year, Baldwin caught 11 TDs from week 12 til 17, and we've seen him starting to come alive the last 3 weeks. Grimes (and everyone else) will have their hands full trying to keep Baldwin in check, cause there are a lot of weapons they have to worry about. Baldwin has quietly become one of the best WRs in the NFL, and CBs will need to take notice or he'll destroy your defense.

Turnovers - Bucs have 17 turnovers forced (5th) while the Hawks have only turned the ball over 6 times (1st), and only 1 in the last 7 games. Tampa has had 2 turnovers in 4 of their 5 wins this year - so it may just come down to if Seattle continues to protect the ball, or if Tampa can get Seattle to cough the ball up.

Overall:

This game only scares me because the injuries we're dealing with. If Thomas, Shead and Bennett suit up, I don't think that Tampa is that big a threat - even in Tampa (Bucs are 1-4 at home). But, not only are the Hawks dealing with injuries - but there's always the chance of more injuries happening. Offensively, the Hawks should be fine - we'll have to see how they are defensively (Terrell may not be Thomas, but he has been in the system for a long time).

I'm definitely not as confident about this game as I would like to be. Especially with Dallas still a game and a half ahead for home field.

If the Hawks were playing a better team I'd be more worried because of the injuries. But NFL games always come down to turnovers, and TB commits them at almost 3x the rate that Seattle does.

Yes, but they also force them more often as well. I really think that ball control is going to be key - and Seattle has to continue to protect the ball.

True. But Seattle is still +5 in comparison. Their defense can get the ball, which is impressive. But their offense coughs it up too much to really take advantage of the opportunities that that provides.

Every game is different, and they're playing well right now. I just think that these types of young gunslinger QBs usually don't fare so well against the Hawks.

Agreed. I really like the matchup - but just am leary of the injuries. Even with the players we have out, I think we're the better team, and as such should win. I just think that it's a better chance of a shoot out instead of a blow out.

TBL lost its NHL game earlier. So this might be a bad day for Tampa.

Dang just make sure Evans doesn't beat you. Double team him if necessary.

Well, let's hope the defense comes together and shuts them down from here.
