Lol. That call was the reason we didn't win back to back superbowls and its pretty evident the team hasent recovered from it yet either. I doubt they ever recover from it. I'm just shocked that you talk about the play as a some sort of positive thing. It was a complete failure.

And bingo.

Heh.

'Ever recover.'

Too funny.

How'd Brady ever recover from this?

How'd Rodgers ever recover from this?

Good grief.

Thankfully those team's owners and/or management structure didn't listen to people like you.

The other guys, they're pro's too. Sometimes they make plays.

Except in the feeble imagination of MMQB's.

None of those plays were as demoralizing. That's how bad it was. Do any of those other teams have players flipping off their OC and verbally being upset on the sidelines and in the public eye? If you cant see the dissension with some of the players and the team, I don't know what to tell you. Nobody was ever held accountable for 'The Play' and somebody needed to be. Bevell throwing Lockette under the bus was the closest thing to it.

Whatever, the seasons over. Pete feels the line is fine and nobodys going anywhere so we'll talk about the same situations next year after we take the early exit out of the playoffs again.

No, nobody has to be accountable for the play.

That's how life works. You get beat (by a fucking AMAZING play), you deal with it and move on. Is there still fallout among the hypercompetitive alpha males of the group? ie: Sherman?

Of course there is.

Lockette WAS the guy who tipped Butler and Browner. It was his lean that made them guess to jump the route. Because Butler had to jump the route IMMEDIATELY. Not wait a half second. Right away. And even then, there's a better than even chance that he doesn't make the pick.

So that's pretty fucking hilarious.

Bevell is 'throwing Lockette under the bus,' but the team should still hold someone accountable.

Because in your heart of hearts, you KNOW deep in your bones, who was responsible. And if that guy was fired, we'd have won three straight Lombardis by now.

Just, because, well you FEEEEEEEL it.

Heh.

Or just POSSIBLY, P+J have proven themselves to be excellent at their jobs, and they know more than you do, and they'll get 4/5 of that line sorted out, and it'll be middle of the road next year, and we'll be in the playoffs again, and then when they sign a big FA T in '18, we'll be back on top of the mountain.

Because, (as was articulated in the video I linked to NFL.com) Seattle has a LOT going for it, I'm not going to type it out again, it's upthread if you bothered to read it. All that shit about rich owner, great facilities yadda yadda yadda.

10 more years of Wilson.

Oh the fucking horror!

spoiled entitled whiner.

6 years and the OL is rock bottom, not sure what would make you think they can improve it or that they would spend big bucks for a LT in FA.

Because the line actually made progress DURING THE YEAR. The middle of the line showed (gasp) some promise.

And the team has already shown that they're going to invest in O-line, because they fucking drafted an O-linemen in the first fucking round.

That happened. I didn't make it up. Look it up.

They ALSO spent money this last year in FA on OT's, sadly the offerings were slim and none, and not surprisingly that didn't work out.

Why do you think they're not going to keep addressing it?

Other than your Eeyore mindset I mean. That's a given.

And that's what fans tend to forget... The other team goes through the same training camp, practices, playbook stewardship, etc as our team does... They have professional football players on their team too... Some may have multiple pro bowlers, All pro as well... They have their eye on the prize just like we do... Football is a game of inches and sometimes the other team get's more inches than we do... It happens... The Hawks are still going to be a very good, competitive team next year, even if we didn't make one single change...

If its wilson, what is it about him? Is he not running bevells offense right? Is he not throwing to graham on purpose?

1 target inside the 10 for graham all year? How do we explain that?

Seriously? You do know that Wilson has 3 or 4 options to throw the ball to on each play, don't you? For some reason, he doesn't throw it to Graham... Is Graham not getting open? Is he double covered in the Red zone? Who knows but RW does have a choice on whom he throws it too each play... It's not like Bevell calls a play that only Kearse is the guy that can be targeted on the play...

Ya there are plays where kearse IS the target. You cant tell me one throw to graham is all the qb's fault nor should it be acceptable.

The whole reason graham was brought in was because our redzone O was garbage. Guess what, its still garbage. When personel changes but results dont, what conclusion are we supposed to come to?

Unless you know what play is called, how could you possibly know that JG was purposely being avoided by the OC?
Your contempt of Bevell is guided at the wrong person. If what you say is true, Pete and John would all have to be in agreement in avoiding a throw to JG. So, it must be a conspiracy.

There's a good article on the Pete-esque stuff Atlanta did with Ryan this year, which is apparently why we didn't get 'choke in the playoffs' Matty Ice this time around.

How Matt Ryan, finally unburdened, sparked a breakthrough

Like you said, game of inches, or as the above suggests, a game of thoughts.

Occam's razor, (teams are double teaming Graham a lot in the RZ) can't be the explanation. Instead, conspiracy!

He wasnt double teamed when he played for NO? He scored 51 tds in 5 seasons.

Then he comes here and suddenly teams figure out he can be double teamed? No, for whatever reason the coaches love kearse and force the ball to him. Case in point, the baldwin "int" td which was meant for kearse.

1 pass to graham in the redzone all year should disgust fans. He shouldnt be on the team if they dont know how to use him.

NO's also had a HOF QB in a pass first offense with weapons all over the field...

Plus, you missed the point... RW doesn't HAVE TO THROW it to KEARSE... He just chooses to for some reason... That's on him, not the coaches...

You keep quoting 1 throw. It wasn't 1 throw. It was 1 TD (regular season). He was targetted 3 times this season in those situations out of 37 attempts. You can still complain that he doesn't get enough targets, but it's not just 1.

Yes he basically does have to. Thats the "best matchup" and thats where the ball is going. Graham is essentially a $10m decoy.

Is that Grahams fault? RW isn't throwing it to him for some reason... RW isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread... HE has many flaws still...

Im not blaming graham, he is horribly under utilized and kearse is horribly over used.

Sadly, graham likely isnt on the team next year and kearse will be out there getting way too many targets again

I don't see Graham getting cut since he and RW put together some really good results this past year. I think the red zone targets and TD's will come, just needs time. The other thing is the numbers could be even better if RW has time to throw. Just have to fix the line at any cost.
