On paper, this game looks to be an ugly one with the possibility of Drew Lock being the starter this week over Geno Smith, due to a groin injury in practice on Thursday.

Even if Geno does play, it may still be ugly with Lock taking all the reps in Friday’s practice with the first team. We all saw what happened on Thanksgiving when Geno Smith did not get much practice that week.

Our defense will probably get throttled again. Our offense may score up to 13 points. I have no confidence in this team winning this game. My guess is we will lose by 17+

I can already see wide open receivers running free all over the field

Lost by 10 with Geno... Lose by 20 with Lock... Our defense will not help keep this one close... 49ers will have up to 6 sacks and 2 TO's... PC will go through an entire pack of gum while trying to figure out why our defense keeps leaving guys wide open in the same scheme each and every week...

Sounds like Lock will be the starter. Charb/K9 should be okay but are banged up and battling through injuries. I can't see any way we don't lose this by 14+.

On the defense, I'm sure we'll do soft zone stuff again, San Fran will have great field position, and expect more monster performances by Kittle and McCaffrey (on the receiving end).

I think the best play today is rest Geno and give us a better chance to steal one vs Philly at home next Sunday. This is a L either way. Gotta look bigger picture.

It's official... Drew Lock will get the start... Gotta have a mobile QB against this 49er front 7...

I am happy about it just for the sake of being better positioned next week vs Philly, but tough spot for Lock. Would like to see what the teams look like with him out there, but I wish is a more favorable matchup. He's getting thrown to the wolves.

I mean I'd like to see Geno healed up... there's no point to march him out there or IMO K9 or Charbs and let them all get ruined. We'll see if Drew Lock is worth keeping around. I know it's the 9ers ferocious defense but let's see what the kid has with a full week+ of prep and knowing he's the starter (vs. being thrown in on the fly - that's very different). I expect disaster in all honesty but whatever. We've kept Lock around on the roster for a couple years without paying any attention to QB so if he absolutely sucks can we please cut him and get someone else next year?

As for the defense... with Adams out, Brooks out, Williams possibly out, and Carroll's dumbass soft zone scheme I expect complete disaster. This is a turn on a good movie or video game, put the Seahawks on the 2nd monitor, and ride it out. Cheers, fellas.

How many PF's or Unsportsmanlike Conduct fouls will DK have today? I say, at least one...

2 and an ejection. Seattle will also have 5 holding penalties on the OL and 4 DPI/holding penalties on defense.

San Fran will have 5 penalties all announced when the game is 30-6 9ers.

I mean all that aside, Seattle is one of the highest penalized teams in the league. That's also on coaching. Carroll has lost control of this team. Anything good Waldron brought (outside run tackles, over the middle routes, multi tight end sets) has been COMPLETELY abandoned (we're just back to stretch receiver and out routes, with runs up the guard/centers ass) and our defense is back to the cupcake stupid ass soft zone where we don't have anywhere near the talent of 2012 to actually operate it, while continually overpaying lackluster defenders and using them completely wrong based on their skillset.

I can see this game being over by halftime. SF is going to rip this defense apart.

"Seattle down 20-3 and need to get a stop here with 1 minute and 15 seconds left on the clock. San Fran pinned within their own 20, Seattle getting the ball after halftime. Pass to McCaffrey, on the move, and FUMBLE! Boye Mafe comes up with a huge hit on McCaffrey who fumbles the ball recovered by Love! What a play by the standout 2nd year player!"

*moments later*

"After a huge turnover, Seattle with the ball on San Fran's 13 yard line, looking to get back in this game. Lock steps back, throws... and INTERCEPTED! Fred Warner grabs it and there is NOBODY that is going to catch him! TOUCHDOWN NINERS! What a fantastic read by Warner! His fourth interception of the year! Extra point is good and the 9ers are up 27-3 heading into halftime!"

There ya go.

We'll probably get 3 points in the first half, a mercy touchdown in the 4th quarter (Myers that FUCK will miss the extra point) to make it 9-41 after the 9ers have put in their 3rd string.

I would say Walker could bust a long one, but he's playing a little beat up and Carroll is convinced the only use for Walker anymore is jamming up up the middle which will do nothing.

Hawks were not winning this game even with Geno starting so if they pull the massive upset you really have to look at the QB position. Hell if they are competitive you have to look at it also. Couldn't be a tougher spot for Lock to start, 49ers are one of the best teams in the NFL.

If they were to win I'd assume the defense and offense were MASSIVELY changed over the last couple weeks... the only way this team wins is the coaching... I question the defense on talent given some injuries but it's there to some degree. The talent on offense (barring injury) is absolutely there... IMO the biggest issue with Seattle over the last few years has been coaching... and given the coordinators just seem like peons with a job title while Carroll tells them what to run, I think the problem has escalated to Carroll.
