As it turned out

But coming out of Oklahoma, he had a complete back rep

I don't remember, as I don't follow college militantly.

AP was a beast and arguably the best back(prolly a better superlative for em') in some time, he just had stumps for hands, wasn't a great blocker and fumbled too much. Dominant game-changer tho, and it appears Barkley has that similar make-up as far as being a home-run hitter en sech.

I pick 11th in my money league, I'd have to think about it.

6 is crazy for his ADP imo.

Pretty sure Zeke was a concensus top 6 or 7 pick his rookie season

Amazing how quick backs drop off, Demarco Murray is out of football, think he was roughly a first rounder in fantasy 2 years ago

early 2nd round pretty much the entire summer, then as preseason started, he slid up into the 6-10 range - pretty much exactly like we are seeing Bark right now, only Gmen don't have the OL dallas had

I'd have to go back and look, I know Doug Martin and Trent Richardson had the same effect on fantasy in their rookie seasons as the guys last season

It's not a position that typically requires a lot of development like QB and WR

The Barkley hype isn't about a 39 yard run, it's about being the #2 pick in the draft and more than once being labeled the most complete back to come out since AP
But Dougie and Richardson weren't drafted #6 in a fantasy draft either.
As I said, history shows a rookie first round RB can be productive. But to expect Elliott numbers just because he was drafted high is expecting too much.
There's a reason EE had the best rookie campaign in a decade - cause it doesn't happen as frequently.
He was the exception. Just like AP is the exception. Those kind of guys don't come around every year.

They don't, but Barkley has been put in that class of backs by a lot of folks, and that also doesn't happen often

Folks can be wrong, or sway under the pressure of popular thinking. For me, I hope anyone drafting in front of me takes Barkley.

I'm picking 5th in one draft, I'm hoping the same there

But at 8 and 10 in my others, I'll roll the dice, I think he's one of the special ones, thought that before my team selected him

Hoping he does well for your hometown team is one thing. Drafting him as the anchor of your fantasy team is another.

I'm not alone, he's gonna be a first rounder universally in fantasy

I realize that. One of those sad but true things.
:L

We will see

Kareem Hunt crashed into the rookie wall last season, and is now dealing with Spencer Wares return, and he's a first rounder

There is some risk with many guys that will go in Round One

i want safety with my first rounder
No such thing. You could actually use the safety argument for Barkley since he has less miles getting pummeled by nfl sized defenders. This could be the year someone like Bell starts slowing down big time.

I think he could be very special too.

But seeing is believing.

Yep hence my safety thing. I want guys I know can produce
Right.

Dalvin Cook off injury versus Barkley. What's amore sure thing?

We've seen Cook look great, even if just for a few games. We haven't seen Barkley be anything. (I don't care what a back does in Pre Season really. Zenner led the league in rushing one year.)
