As usual, the objective is to play .500 or better on the highway and load up at home. So far, so good except for the .500 or better on the road. Need to do better than we did the last time out.

4 in Washington
3 in St. Lousy
3 in Wigglyville

This will be it for the Nats until post-season. The Nats have been sucking lately, which may not bode well for our Redlegs. Arroyo vs. Gio Whiz Gonzalez in the opener.

Difference: We will have Sean Marshall available.
Hopefully Votto will be hitting, not missing.
We will miss Strasburg again.
And I have evidently broken the space bar on my keyboard -- again.
Fuck plastic.

If they split with Washington and take 2 of 3 in the other series, that will be 6-4. Entirely possible, imo. If the offense can get it going on the road, they're probably in good shape. The pitching continues to stay strong and that's what carried the team last year.

I'll be happy with .500 on the road. Lots of teams seem to get healthy on the Reds, IMO not so much because if the pitching, but because this binge diet offense usually keeps the bad guys in the game. I expect 1 win each in DC and STLOU and at least 2 in CHI, and hope to gain 1 more somewhere.

Does anybody think the team played all that well in the homestand?
I thought they were very inconsistent -- and still went 8-2.
Three so-so teams can do that, I suppose. But if the team plays WELL, 8-2 against good teams is possible.

I said from the begining, if the Reds can survive April and play .500, they will win the division. I am holding to that bold prediction. so far, we have done as good or better than I expected and we have only 6 days left in the month. I too will be frequenting DC this weekend to see the Reds. I have 3rd base line tickets on Sunday.
