Series Thread: Mariners crucial 'road trip thread' TX - SD - LAA

Got our asses handed to us this road trip. Plenty of tough games on the horizon. Sadly we do not play OAK another 16 games this season.

We just gave up 13 hits and 9 runs to the LAA Angels with I think 1 of our top 3 pitchers on the bump.

End of June we may be wishing we were this close to .500 ( I have a hunch things are gonna get worse for the M's this season )

I'm sure they will get on a streak at some point, but this is not last year's team. I just don't see them making the playoffs this year. They have way too many holes.

It's been rough watching the M's, BUT, the good news is for all in OR, the east lakes are hitting with small size flatfish( Frog)...Hooked a 3 pounder last weekend.

Its pretty deflating to see what we are seeing so far this season. There is no energy coming out of our lineup and pretty much every player but Kelenic seems to have regressed and right now our rotation seems to be falling apart from everyone excepet Castillo.

I'm fine with any of this team's coaching staff or management getting fired, but I'm already looking at next season, and my focus is 100% on the owners.

They need to fork out a lot more money to Jerry and Hollander to overpay free agents hitters. There's just no other choice unless you want to see trader Jerry keep shuffling shit for shit and still manage to come out on the wrong end nearly every time. I think Jerry would still fuck it up with a bigger budget, but the last thing I want him to do is trade away a bunch of good pitching in search of a couple of top bats. He'd get owned.

Problem is, as you know, they would just hire the same level of people to replace these guys. Like I have said so many times before, hiring legit staff just brings expectations and expectations can get expensive. Mariners management/ownership is in a great place right now. Mediocre expectations, star to bring in crowd, payroll that is comfortable and the top money making team in baseball. Why would they mess with that just because a few of us diehards want to see winning baseball? We. Be. Screwed.

I watched him come up with the Phillies and yes he has a good glove but he fell way short of expectations. So of course when the M's traded for him I shook my head and when they gave him a contract I knew that was a mistake.

I posted this a couple weeks back in the wrong thread. I forgot about it until @jerseyhawksfan79 liked it.

There's a lot of things I can hammer the Phillies on and yes they made the WS but they have issues but that's a different topic. What they do right that the Mariners don't do is open the checkbook. Yep Turner has started off slow but I'm sure he'll turn it around. Paid Schwarber to hit HR's, signed Wheeler and of course locking down Harper. Like I said, they have issues right now but the FO is committed to trying to win a WS. The complete opposite of what the Mariners are doing.
