If the Rags played all series like they did in the first 40 minutes they'd be up 3-0. Not disagreeing the Pens played poorly for the first 40 minutes, but the Rangers won the President's trophy for a reason, they are a good team.
I agree, they are a great team, but the Pens are better:D

Domoulin looked good last night, Scouty.

Would contemplate sitting Scuds before Doumolin if Pouliot gets healthy. Rangers really took advantage of Scuds last night, and he dragged Cole down with him.

^ yeah once again Scuderi's lack of speed is showing. During the season he was a good compliment for Maatta and then Despres but now he is just a PK specialist.

To me though, on the whole roster, I wouldn't mind seeing them bench Perron. His awareness, discipline and lack of scoring really is making him look like the most expensive 4th line player.
Unfortunately with the total lack of scoring you can't replace him knowing the fact that he has the ability and it might actually come back at some point.

Yeah, that thought has crossed my mind with Perron. I thought he looked dangerous last night, he just needs to shoot more often, he is in position, but it holding onto a second longer, don't know why.

As for Scuds,he only played one shift in the third, Doumolin played three, coaching staff must have seen the same thing, Scuds was getting abused.

I think we really need Doumolin's skating ability for this series, so yeah, Scuds out for Pouliot would be best. Doumolin can actually lug the puck a little bit, too, which is another thing we need since Martin's the only one right now who can do it. I think Pouliot and Cole could be pretty dynamic together, too.

Anything that will make offense to defense transition better.

Gotta say, if you dump Perron, who else gets moved up? Leparie?...dude was freaking awesome. that line didn't seem to get much action in the second period though.

Really hard to pin down the most common lines, since the roster has been in so much flux.

Going forward it seems like:

Kunitz - Crosby - Hornqvist
Winnik - Malkin - Perron
Spaling - Sutter - Comeau
Bennett - Lapierre - Downie

Thanks. I remember you answering my similar yearly inquires on ESPN boards, so thanks again.

Two consecutive icings by Lovejoy then he takes a terrible angle on St Louis behind the net, goal is on him 100%.

It really doesn't matter. Pens put up a good fight, 4 close games so far and the even won one. It definitely wasn't easy for the Rags, so we'll say wait until next year when we can bow out in the first round again.

I want a healthy F'n roster for one god Damn post-season! Is that too much to ask?

The rags are missing exactly one guy on their 23 man. The Pens are missing 5! Broken record for six seasons.

Not enough to make a huge difference in the possession stats, it makes a small difference.

For the Rangers, losing so many face offs kills them on the power play. The puck drops, it's immediately out of the zone. At this point they should just decline the penalties and stay 5 on 5

That is pretty amazing that every year the Pens end up with half the guys from Wilkes-Barre. Hard to figure out why the Pens always have so many guys on the DL. Sid with his concussions, but also Letang with a stroke, Dupuis with the blood clots, some weird stuff going on their.

PP's/Pk's don't affect possession, it's a 5v5 stat.

Put yeah, the pp is killing them. Not sure that is surprising though, since the Rangers pp is not very good, and the Pens pk is pretty good.

Saw that the other day. Would like to see an age correlation against that chart. Although the Pens do have three stars that are injury prone in Malkin, Crosby, and Letang.

Hockey season is over! Saw that last goal coming about a minute before they scored. Pens were standing around watching the Rags play. Oh well, Lets Go Bucs!

Losing a bunch of 2-1 games, our offense was seriously messed up this season. Sort of glad the season is over. Just wish there was some hope to get better.
