I believe he is, but I'm not sure it really matters. I think if we can't hammer out a contract before FA, then we'll just tag him. I'm sure they will continue to workout a long term deal after that.

You have to apply the tag a couple weeks before FA starts. So you can't do it the way you expressed above.

I'd just tag him and move on. We have plenty of 2015 money available. We don't have to pay a QB.

Worilds agent probably has informed him to test FA with the Eagles having a buttload of cash. My guess he will be an Eagle. I doubt anything has changed from a year ago.

I guess I phrased that wrong. What I was trying to say was that if we can't hammer out a multi-year contract before the franchise tag deadline on March 2, then we should tag him and continue the process of working on a long term deal. Regardless, I don't see Mac hitting the open market.

Welcome, TampaBird!
Are you originally from Philly, or tell us how you came to be an Eagles fan.
I agree that Worilds should be an Eagle, along with 1 or 2 CBs, and a safety.
I haven't watched McPhee at all, but will pay attention to hm now. He has great size, but can he cover?
Then we can concentrate on BPAs in the draft. Maclin will stay here, and probably sign during the 1st week in March, before Free Agency starts.

I'm from Allentown, moved down here two years ago. I definitely don't miss that sh*tty weather you guys are dealing with up north. McPhee would be an upgrade over cole/graham in coverage but I wouldn't expect to be seeing him playing lb in nickle formations. The thing about McPhee is that he lines up, and is productive, at olb, de, or even nt in a 3-4 d. According to PFF, he had 64 pressures on 347 pass rushes last year.

... and LeCharles Bentley is still on that plane to Philly. lol. lets hope its not a smoke screen
I'm hoping that you guys low ball him with a ~$20-25mil contract. That'll likely keep him in the market and if he doesn't find better then he will be back in Pittsburgh for the same money. One can hope, right? lol
