I voted LT. A couple of guys not on the list that deserve consideration are Chuck Bednarik and Herb Adderly. Herb was at least as good a cover guy as Deion. He went an entire season without giving up a TD pass.

I'd put Richard Dent on this list ahead of Singletary.

Here is a Top 25 List.
25 Greatest Quarterbacks in NFL History

Here is who each played aginst

Ham - (5) - #11, #12, #23, #24, #25
Brooks -(11) - #1, #2, #4, #5, #7, #8, #9, #10, #19, #20, #21

Brooks played 11 of the Top 21 QBs
Ham played 2 of the Top 21 QBs

The flip side is Brooks had many more opportunities to defend passes and accumulate ints.
I didn't watch Brooks that much, but Ham was the greatest player on that dynastic Steelers team. in my opinion.

I'm higher on Prime Time than most. That 1st year with San Fran and they interviewed him before his return game to Atlanta and he talked sooooooo much crap about Atlanta being "his stadium" etc etc and then to back it up with a 90 yard pick 6 running down Atlanta sideline pointing at them the whole time. It was magical.

Yes, he was a punk.

LT had more room to work. that giants D had other guys you had to worry about too.

andre was a one man defense.

Sure Pepper Johnson and Carl Banks, ex Pats coaches

I despised his act.

Come on... you're too uptight. I understand someone like Andre Rising or TO but Prime Time was funny. Going to the combine in a lino, not stretching, running a 4.2 forty and ran out the tunnel right back into the limo. He was great.

Not really, The Giants ''Taylored'' their defense around LT, they literally designed their defenses for him.
White really could have been dropped into any defense in history and dominated. He needed zero scheming.
Right...all those other guys on the D played just to let LT make the plays...

Just in case you didn't realize it, you pointing out they designed their D around him basically makes my argument.

I didn't make your argument in the least bit.
Defenses had caught up with LT and the exposed weakness had to be managed.
White had no such weakness. Line him up anywhere, announce it to OCs and they still couldn't limit him, let alone stop him.

Sanders was trashy and a phony to boot. It was well known he spent most of his down time in Atlanta at strip clubs snorting coke while professing his ''faith''.
He eventually grew up a bit, but I have no respect for the blowhard POS he was in his Atlanta days.

The problem with polls like this are two fold.

1) Many are to young to have seen some really great football players, thus would never vote for them.

2) Rule changes have completely made it impossible to compare players from different eras. It's like they were playing a different sport.

Well, I have no idea if that's true or not but I always believed it ain't bragging if you back it up.

I had to go with the Minister of Defense.
He made all pros look like boys in a mans sport.
Kills me to vote for an Eagle, but ....... it is what it is.

You need experience to judge players from different eras, but it's not impossible. You can't just look at stats of course since the passing game has exploded and sacks weren't even recorded till the 1980s, but watching film of Deacon Jones makes me believe he'd be among the best today, even without a record of his sacks.

Defense is my favorite part of football, nothing like a good defense... This is a tough one, so many talented players to choose from...

1. Reggie White
2. Ray Lewis
3. Deion Sanders
4. Joe Greene
5. Mike Singletary

Of course Lawrence Taylor could easily be there also... he was a beast..
