It is what it is (as much as I hate that saying)
but it would feel distasteful if it were the other way around.
While it's slightly different in dealing with commits who haven't signed as opposed to students actually on campus, you are probably right. That's also probably why I only casually follow recruiting and just enough so that I have an idea of who is going where.
