Looks like HT has canceled some teams meeting right now. Maybe on his way back to NE.

I can live with the Cooks trade, esp if they can extend him. I hope he does not want Antonio Brown money. The Ealy trade, I don't like. No need to give up a RD2 pick for him.

Now WTF am I going to do for the draft Rd 1&2??

Pats traded a 2nd for their 3rd. All it did was move the Pats back 8 spots.

The Cooks trade is probably a two year rental. The Pats wont pay him huge money. They'll get a 3rd round comp pick.

All in for Brady and 6.

Sign him to the incentive plan. He has the mental ability, does he have the physical tools as well?
20 lbs are a lot to carry around with you (I know...) and hurt every aspect of your game.
Quickness, top speed, change of direction, jumping.

Butler, Gilmore and a fit healthy Revis...??? Could be killer.

Revis has played the contract game as good as any player I've seen but I'm not sure he has much left.

BB is getting most of what he needs in free agency. Probably good since he is trading away top draft choices (unless a Garoppolo trade brings in some new ones). I see a few unfortunate aspects to all the moves. First, our #1 CB (Butler) is earning several times less than Gilmore. Something will hopefully be done next season to rectify this. Second, with the acquisition of Cooks, it is probably goodbye to Amendola. Really too bad since Dola left money on the table for 2 straight years in order to remain a Patriot. Third, I think our new tight end is making nearly what Gronk is (I may be wrong about this). Gronk has already dropped hints about his salary in recent years.

Gronk needs to stay healthy and then he can rightfully crow. I think he's pissed that he didn't play in this years SB

Butler will get a big pay day next year no matter what. I hope he realizes it's not time to sulk.

Misread the Ealy trade, it happened while I was sleeping. I thought they gave up a 2nd and then swapped 3rd rd picks. So I like it. BB must like what he is seeing with the depth in this draft.

Is it a team option for the 5th yr or player?

So now where does NE go?

-HT? Seems it's between Tenn or NE. Canceled trips to NO, Mia signed Timmons..
-RB? Blount, Gaffney, FA??? Personally would like to see Murray in here.
-Dola? Restructure or Cut? Wouldn't mind keeping him.
-Solder restructure?
-DE help? Only have Flowers/Nink/Ealy
-Odrick DE? Not heard anything about him
-Guy DT? Good depth guy from Balt.
-Butler? I add him at the end because he is tech here and I still think something gets done.
-Patriots rumored to have an interest in D.J Fluker?
-Draft....really going into it with no 1st or 2nd rd picks?? Move Butler, Jimmy G trade??

Here is what I have for the Patriots' updated list of draft picks: 3a (72nd, from CAR); 3b (96th); 4 (118th, from NO), 5a (163th); 5b (183rd); 6 (200th, from IND); 7 (239th). One question is if the 4th-round pick (118th, from NO) could still be in jeopardy of being forfeited as part of Deflategate penalties. In that case, the team would have 4 (132, from SEA) restored.

I thought Sea was the one that was taken. I'm sure the NFL would love to have NO pick. Why did I think NE had 3 3rd picks now..

If Belichick hadn't done anything the Patriots would still be a contender in the AFC East.

Looking at all of the moves so far and being just a bit weird.......the Patriots gave up their 1st and 2nd round picks. The questions will always be asked....................

Could the Patriots have drafted a better WR with the 32nd pick? If Cooks was available in the draft in 2017 having already played in the NFL, would he be available at 32? Very, very, very doubtful.

With their 2nd round pick at #64 would a SB DE with 3 sacks and an interception be available???? Very, Very, Very doubtful.

Basically you could say that the Patriots drafted two NFL experienced players with the 32nd and 64th picks.

Word on CSNNE this morning is that the Miami Dolphins are trying to get Donte Hightower. The Titans are no longer involved. The AFC East is trying to do anything to slow down the NE Express. They are also saying that Hightower and the Patriots are a crotch hair away from an agreement, and unless some team makes a totally off the wall offer, he could re-sign today.

That leaves Malcolm. His agents are trying to do anything to get fan sympathy for him, but there is very little. Like any other rookie, the union has dictated what he can do and the Patriots are playing by the league and union rules. I'm surprised we haven't heard that the Patriots are "cheating" him out of a fair payday. Consider this: Butler played for three years. His first season was about $300K and he saved a Super Bowl win. In year two he got about $450K and the Patriots lost the AFCCG to Denver. In year 3 he got about $650K and the Patriots got another SB win. Now he's a restricted free agent and because of the league rules he's been tendered for a $3.92M salary for 2017 if he signs the tender. A 600% increase. No question if he was an unrestricted free agent, he'd have several $12-$13M per year offers. Teams value first round draft picks way too much to pay some one $60-$70M with 60% guaranteed and not be 100% sure that they will be at playing for the Conference Championship and give up the next year's first round pick. Once Hightower is in the fold, the Patriots will re-evaluate their cap position and they just might tease him for a cheap contract. Butler is 27 years old, so what would he say if the Pats offered him a 3 year contract for $27M with $18M guaranteed??? He'd more than double the tender, but be $5M below the leagues top CBs.

Lawrence Guy decided to spend the night at the Hotel in Patriots Place across the lot from Gillette Stadium. He was supposed to leave yesterday afternoon and fly to Miami. He's still there and it's almost lunch time. Is BB buying him some lobster stew?

Patriots tendered Butler and have not really negotiated with him (yet) Lots of pressure on him to sign long-term.
Garappolo trade would have to include a top 5 1st rounder plus.
Amendola's getting old.
Gronk is making $2.5 million more on a contract that has seen him miss a lot of games and not contribute in the playoffs. His contract runs through 2019. In 2020, he'll turn 30. How many of us believe he'll be playing for the Pats @ 30? Will he (and his beat up body) be worth $12 million in 2019?

SO a few thoughts...

-How does HT not want to come back to this team after what BB has done?
-They can get more cap space by redoing Solder's deal. Cut/Redo Dolas contract. They are both high cap hits.

Fucking amazing how BB has done this!!
