again, don't see how anyone sees an upset in this game. Oregon is elite, meanwhile Stanford is a good team. This probably ends up a lot like UCLA game. close for a half, Ducks walk away in the second.

That's why it's called an UPSET!! It's because people don't think it will happen!!

But as romeo said: Thank you for the quality entertainment!!

Actually Oregon does OK with the physical defenses Stanford's defenses havent changed a whole lot over the last 3 seasons where they ranked 21,26,20 in 2010, 11, and 12. Oregon did ok in 10 and 11. Oregon has a winning record over ranked defenses over the last few years too. it just happens that the few losses also came from top defenses.

I'm not saying they haven't or couldn't beat those type teams. I'm wondering how their point totals compare to their averages when they do play physical top defenses? How many points are they putting up in those games?

thats why the game is played. Nobody saw Baylor beating KSU, Stanford beating Oregon, aTm beating Bama.

All those teams were heavily favored.

Gotta win on the field. Not the message board.

Exactly. This is what OD doesn't seem to grasp. In all of the times that I have attended a USC game, whether it be at the Coliseum, on the road or in the Rose Bowl, I have seen them lose 1 time!! That was to a Stanford team that was a 41 point underdog!!

well its weird.

They put up 105 point on the Stanford physical d in 2010 and 2011. Then in 2012 they put up 14...

This years Stanford d is the least impressive of the previous 3 imo.

And for the record Stanford is not the measuring stick every year as representing those type defenses

dont think they are either.

Goes both ways. One could argue hunh offenses give Bama fits.

We both know upon deeper inspection not typically the case.

But fans tend to grasp straws and do a bit of sterotyping.

Stanford does not have the linebackers that UCLA have. Skov is the only Stanford player that might get to start for UCLA.

Hogan has not been tearing up the gridiron as of late. Note, USC crushed OSU, the week before Stanford struggled to get by the Beaver.

Oregon wins this game, and I don't care by how much as it punches the ticket for a lock on #2 if Bama goes undefeated.

I feel like Stanford/Oregon is a lot like Wisconsin/Ohio State. Tough game every year even though Oregon usually actually wins, and still the most likely game for Oregon to get tripped up.

I really want to pick Stanford, but I just cannot. I don't think they have been consistant enough, where Oregon has. I hope I'm wrong though.

Prediction: Stanford beats Oregon, FSU runs the table, including a victory over Florida at season's end, prompting OD to begin a thread entitled:

Skov isn't even the best LB on Stanford. ED I suggest you look up the numbers on Murphy, Lancaster, Tarpley etc. Stanford's LB corp is one of the best in the country. Not to say Barr and Kendricks are not studs, but to say Skov is the only LB of note on Stanford is simply asinine.

[insert sarcasm font] It's West Coast media bias designed to boost Oregon to 2nd place...

I'm looking for something different than blowing out a lot of hot air. Oregon fans are by far the cockiest bunch on these boards. Why? Because they score a trillion points and think they are unstoppable. Flash sells! However, I can't get over how no one covers the receivers. Handoffs up the middle or around the end are rarely contested. But each year Oregon plays a couple teams with a physical defense and for some reason is held waaaay under their Avg. This seems to be a unique year with 4 teams being in a tier by themselves. You then have about 4teams on the next tier that could hang but eventually lose and maybe big by the end. In my book Oregon could win but if they are held way below their average it will.show me what Oregon really has. Beating up on a bunch of nobodies. This game intrigues me because I think Stanford is good, but much like Miami, way overrated. So if they hold Oregon down it will prove what I already believe, FSU is definitely the #2 ranked team. Remember before I'm attacked by every Duck fan and their SportsHoopla brother, this is my opinion. :noidea:

Wonder WHO this is in reference too?:laugh3::suds:

Bingo. :10:

We have been told by at least one mod that too many pick on OcD and we are all the assholes. :wtf2: I guess I should lobby for a UW fan to become a mod so I can go into full on crazy troll mode full time and have my own personal protector.

You SHO' should! I'll vote for a man that tells the truth.
