Pretty sure I've made my position clear on the subject but I'll state again... USC was fucked over by the NCAA.
Feel better?
Feel better?
There is a point here honestly.
When a traditional dominant superpower is down, the other teams need to take advantage.
Although LSU is probably not the best example.
They did win two titles during the Bama down years.
USC is the superpower of the PAC 12.
USC will be the superpower of the PAC 12 again.
It is not a matter of IF. It is a matter of WHEN.
If Oregon does not break through, you could make an argument about "wasting their opportunity."
Oregon might kick themselves in a few years when the Trojans are reborn.
The same thing was true in the ACC
Florida State and Miami were down.
But, neither Clemson nor Virginia Tech could totally seize the opportunity.
The same thing seems true now in the Big 12
Texas and Oklahoma have been vulnerable for a few seasons now.
But, no Big 12 team has stepped up and made the most of it.
That's not entirely true. Okie jr did step up and win the conference title and should have played for the BCS title and KSU stepped up and won the conference last year. We'll see if Baylor can do the same this year.
lol at LSU. that must sting.
Not in the slightest. I know we have a great program, that's what matters to me. Been in 3 national titles in the past 10 years, I think you can count on one hand how many teams have done that. I'm not sure who else has besides LSU and Bama.
LSU has a national championship in their trophy case...
FIFY
2 missed fgs and Oregon would have 3 appearances.
The almost bunch up at Oregon.
USC hasn't won a real title since the 1970s. then again, it took oregon 100 years to win an outright conference title. so there's that.
Well let's see who USC hires next before making statements like Oregon is an underachiever. The PAC 12 has been tough, so it isn't easy to get through unscathed. Any clue when the USC sanctions are completely finished though? Absolutely ridiculous all the punishments they got.
Yeah, they got more than OSU, Oregon & Miami combined as far as recruit reduction.
