The dead period lifted today and Nebraska will host visitors this weekend. With 20 current commits Nebraska could take as many as 6 more players in this class. Here's who's visiting this weekend:

Mikale Wilbon: 4-Star RB (Wilbon was on Nebraska's radar early in the process and impressed at multiple camps and events throughout the summer. He had a leg injury hamper him in his senior year so he didn't get to put up the numbers he was hoping to. Wilbon committed to James Franklin and Vandy in the Summer but shortly after Franklin left for PSU Wilbon decommitted from Vandy and reopened his recruitment. Nebraska swooped in swiftly and offered him a Scholarship and now the 5'9" 195 lb RB will be visiting this weekend. Nebraska sees a lot of Ameer Abdullah in Wilbon and would definitely take him and Ballage if they could.)

Deion Hallmon: 3-Star CB (Hallmon has long been on Nebraska's radar and he just recently chose to visit. It's an odd situation because Terry Joseph is no longer with the program but Hallmon was teammates with Boaz Joseph and really likes Nebraska. In an odd twist Nebraska could get his commitment even without a position coach currently on staff but it would be beneficial to at least have a name they could tell him about this weekend. Hallmon will be visiting Temple next week and has already visited Syracuse and Northern Illinois. Nebraska has a great shot here. Hallmon is an odd duck though having 30+ offers with more than half of them being BCS offers (offers from FSU, UW, Arkansas etc...) but has only Nebraska, Temple and Syracuse as BCS considerations at the moment.

Desean Blair: 3-Star WR (Blair has been a long time Louisville commit but with the exit of Charlie Strong chose to open his recruitment back up. Nebraska took Jariah Tolbert last week in a surprise move but with the scholarships open Nebraska could definitely pick up another outside WR. Blair is faster than Tolbert and more polished but will need to add weight to fit on the outside in this offense. Nebraska will try to get him to flip his commitment this weekend and cancel his visit to Louisville next week.)

Chris Jones: 3-Star CB (Jones has been committed to Purdue since December 17th but has seince been reached out to by Rich Fisher. Jones is a teammate of Desean Blair and will be visiting this weekend. He's 6'0" 175lbs and is a pure corner. Some place might take him as a WR but he really seems like a pure corner to me. He visited Purdue on Dec. 6th and committed a few weeks later if he and Desean like Nebraska I could see them joining forces in Lincoln for 2014. Nebraska would most definitely still take Hallmon.)

It should be noted that Nebraska has another receiver in Glen Irons (Edna Karr) coming on a visit next week. Likely they will only take either Blair or Irons. They will probably use Irons as motivation for Blair to take the spot ASAP.

Hallmon seems very intriguing considering who he has offers from and who made his short list.... kind of odd.

Do you think we have a legit shot at Wilbon? Or do you think he follows Franklin to PSU like a few other Vandy de-commits? Kind of surprised he hasn't already.

As far as I know Franklin hasn't offered Wilbon a scholarship to PSU... they have limitted numbers anyway so he can't just take whoever he wants. I think we have a legit shot at Wilbon, right now besides Vandy we are the only visit he has scheduled. And there is only one other weekend to visit someone as well. I would put our shot as good but not great.

Nebraska will be getting a visit from a 4-star DE (committed to PSU) the weekend before signing day. Also a DE committed to Cincinnatti might be visiting.

Deion Hallmon moved his OV to next weekend. Presumably so that Nebraska can have Charlton on campus for the visit. Would think this is actually a good thing for us.

Sounds like Wilbon's visit went really really well. He's still considering Vandy but he's not going to visit there. Sounds like it's down to us, Vandy, Missouri and PSU. I think he's visiting Mizzou and PSU before signing day. He will be playing the hat game on signing day. Honestly, I think it is between us and PSU.

Blair gave his visit an "8" out of 10 but then said, "It couldn't have gone much better." So it's hard what to make of that. Sounds like Chris Jones is considering a flip, wouldn't be surprised to see him flip to Nebraska this week.
