Once again a team Pittsnurgh got robbed by a poorly written/ undefinable rule. Seems in this situation once the ball crosses the plain it's over. But apparently not. Either way I'll take it we needed that

It's not poorly written, and it's very definable. If it were a running play, then crossing the line would end the play; however the rules for catching are different, and require the player maintain control all the way to the ground which he did not.

Now, it's a dumb rule, but it's the rule nonetheless.

tomlin called that fake clocking

pats saw it coming, just like seattle on their fuck up.

The fake spike was so dumb

Plenty of time to call a play there

Boomer this morning saying veteran QBs there run the offense, and he was surprised Ben was taking instruction from the sideline

Yup...I heard that. He's been a very good QB for his career....but I swear he just doesn't get it.

Yup

Whether he agrees with clocking it or not, Haley isn't telling him to force a throw into triple coverage to Eli Rogers

Agreed should have been more descriptive / accurate when I replied.

Agreed.

Does anyone find it ironic that Jesse James got robbed?

I'm not exactly sure what happened as far as the action was concerned (game was on mute while I was watching SF/Tenn) but it looked like only one Pitt player ran a route while everyone just stood around. You're right that he shouldn't force that ball.

Yup, apparently The entire offense expected the spike, Eli Rodgers was the only one that noticed Ben still had the ball and started running

Just a mess

It was the only play where I thought they truly missed AB

I'm so fucking pissed. That was a fucking catch. He had possession of the ball, knee down, ball crosses the goal line. Play should be dead at that point. Even if it isn't, he wasn't touched. That was a mother fucking touchdown and we got fucking screwed. Typical Patriots win.

Tim Hasselbeck made a great point....if it's called a catch you need indisputable proof to overturn it.

Him being touched or not is irrelevant on whether or not it's a catch though.

Dude... We aren't the first team to get the shaft in this scenario, and we won't be the last. Whichever way you want to see it, the rulebook states someway or another that the receiver has to maintain possession throughout contact with the ground. It is what it is.
