I was reading an article about Gee yesterday by Hoppy Kercheval. In the article in mentioned WVU selected him as president when he was 37 yrs old. He had been the Dean of WVU Law.


I don't care who you are, it is pretty impressive to have achieved those positions at such a young age.

Well, I was working during the interview and upon a second listen, I may have misunderstood the context of his comments but Ill try n post a link, gets into it about the 2:45 mark.

Listening to the interview with Hoppy, my take is that Gee does not like the label of interim president. He said he will fulfill the term of the president and help select the next one.

IMO, he wants to be an active president and handle the responsibilities and functions of this position as if he was permanent.

But, I have read elsewhere, that he stated in an interview… his home is Columbus, OH now. And, he will be returning there. I have read where the BOG wants to select the next president by June 15, 2014.

Gee is a really good administrator and a hell of a fundraiser, but the guy needs to learn that he is not a stand up comic and keep his mouth shut. When he was here the first time he tried to shrink WVUs enrollment by changing the in state admission policy, so he may be the right guy now as WVU struggles to change the academic perception of the school. I really do not see Tressel coming to WVU, especially as long as the show cause order is still in place.
