I will continue to say this; It is the little things in baseball that will get you beat. Miller's failure to cover 2B cost us a run that should have never been there. Pitching Kendrick outside over and over as he hit balls from CF to RF over and over. Seth Smith's horrible throw to the plate where they had the runner out by 10 feet but instead the throw is way up the line and the runner scores.

The hits against will happen, but the less mistakes you make the better your chances are of winning. Also, in a league where runs seem to be down how do you give up a 4-0 and 5-3 lead?

But hey, it is only April and April wins are less important than September wins.

I think probably the biggest thing that stood out was Ackley not being able to track down kendricks double in the 3rd. It was well stroked but catchable. We rag on Jackson and deservingly so but I think he catches that. If that ball is caught that sac fly is the 3rd out and not the 2nd and there is no Miller play or Smith bad throw. I think those all happened in the 4th if I'm not mistaken.

Regardless this ones on Paxton. Gotta hold a 4 run lead. He made too many mistakes in the 4th and 5th. He needs to make adjustments as the league is getting more of a look at him.

Hopefully good Kuma returns today.

Agree, something about Paxton, he doesn't seem to have that killer mindset to finish a game. He just kept grooving the ball down the middle at 93.

Il disagree with your point on pitching kendrick outside.... His two hits were on balls on the inner half that he inside outed them. Sometimes you just get beat, he had great ab's last night.

Also the throw from Smith. Thats not a little thing. Nailing a runner at home is much more rare then an inaccurate throw in that scenario. Unfortunately its the give the M's signed up with in order to get his bat. Smith has never been a plus defender, but he can hit righties and usually puts pro ab's together. Now lets get out of the stupid nl park and get the DH back so we can sit Cruz. He needs to hit, let someone else worry about the field

The offense was boom or bust. long ball or KO.

I think Paxton will be fine, teams are looking to attack him right now to try to rattle him and once he learns to adjust a little to that he'll be ok. He's a big guy but hes young still and is learning.

Unfortunately that is a Jack Z offense. Been pretty consistent throughout his time. Just one week in but they are dead last in baseball in OBP. I'm not a huge batting average guy but they are 28th in that yet they are in the top 5 in homers of course. Again I get this is one week but these have been the trends for years with this team.

At the same time you know Cano is going to put together some hot streaks. He has been absolutely lining the ball all over the place the last 4 games or so but right at guys. Some of those will start to find grass and OBP and Runs will increase and level out.

Well the offense hasn't been terrible, but the pitching has been.

Out of 7.2 billion plus people on this planet can they please find a few that can come close to judging a strike zone correctly?

Love Kyle Seager and how smart he is. Gonna shift? Fine, I'll bunt or hit it in the huge hole.
