He was always a great hitter. I’m not disputing that. It’s his power game that suddenly developed at age 32. His career high prior to that was 18. Suddenly he jumped to 29. By 2000(during the height of the steroid era) he hit 37HR at age 37. Suspect as hell.

A little late to this party and just here to stir the pot a bit.

Do you consider Hank Aaron's best offensive season (by measure of OPS and OPS+) occurring at age 37 to be suspicious? He hit a home run every 8.2% of his plate appearances (573 PAs) that year and also hit a home run every 8.6% of his plate appearances at age 39 (465 PAs). His two previous highs in home run percentages were 6.9% (at age 35) and 6.8% (at age 28).

This is how I know Posey is a first ballot lock. Very few catchers in the HOF, if he's not that guy they should burn the place down. Your avi guy should be in too IMO. And I think Mauer should be let in too.
