I figure this thread title is good click bait.

No, his actual career of one all-star and one finals appearance was not HOF-worthy. He was a 6’3” undersized shooting guard that was out of place for his time.

This thread is strictly hypothetical. What if this dude played today as opposed to the 90’s???

He was a 39.4 percent three-point shooter in an era when threes weren’t taken too often. His incredibly unique skill set would absolutely stand out today. So, I say - Yes, Hawkins would be a Hall-of-Famer had he played during the late 2010’s/early 2020’s…

Hawkins might be a CJ McCollum type player. Not nearly a HOF player.

I think he would stand out less today. Because his skill set wouldn’t be unique at all.

He would be less undersized today. But there are lot of Hersey Hawkins type players out there today.

Isn’t Hersey Hawkins already in the basketball Hall of Fame because of his collegiate career? I think he may be a gold medalist as well playing for Team USA. He is like top 10 all time scoring in college basketball.

In today's NBA tweeners like Bones Hyland have value. He's an example of a guy that would have been utterly useless in the 90's. Hawkins is a considerably better player than Hyland.

Dude.

Bones Hyland got dumped by the Nuggets and he is barely playing for the Clippers.

He has value, but he is a low end rotation player.

And so what?

You are claiming Hawkins would be HOF level today.

That basically means you think he would be Damian Lillard level player.

Taking the easy no on that.
