Yes, it is just a coincidence that he keeps hiring parents and coaches of recruits. What is this the fifth one now?
Chris Partridge (NJ) -- now coaches LB and special teams. Ranked as one of the best recruiters in the country.

Michael Johnson (CA) -- 11 years in the NFL, also was OC and interim HC at UCLA.

Biff Poggi (MD) -- HOF coach from Maryland's Gilman School, where he was HC for 20 years. His son was a Junior when he joined the staff.

Devin Bush Sr (FL) -- played college ball at Florida State. 1st round pick in the NFL draft, played 8 seasons in the NFL. Coached his son's HS team to a state title in Florida.

If you notice -- all these guys were successful players and coaches in recruiting hotbed's. Not difficult to understand. Not one of them isn't qualified to be hired by any football program.

You forgot about the mom of a player from Stanford who just happened to move to Michigan without a job or any family in Michigan.

Who's still on staff, who's kid graduated and never cracked the starting lineup.

So you signed a contract with the wrong players mother. Not our fault that you bribed a bad player.

You are really grasping at straws with that one. That kid was a graduate transfer, who came to UM for the Masters program more than anything else. He also has played CB which was arguably our top position group, so playing time wasn't going to happen.

Love how Michigan fans are acting like that if Michigan State or Ohio State had done this they wouldn't be screaming foul

I say it is mostly a legit hire. The guy has years of NFL experience. Lots of NFL Dads tend to have good, athletic kids.

Now, hiring the MOM of a recruit, that was not a legit hire.

I wouldn't have an issue with any school in the midwest doing this, especially if the coaches are actually qualified candidates.

If you look in the parenthesis of the post I made -- it lists the state each coach is from. The only state I think they are missing is Texas, as UM has an analyst from Alabama and multiple coaches from Ohio.

Who knows the landscape of each individual state better than high profile coaches from those areas?

Are you basing that off of the awesome 2014 Peppers had? Or maybe was it Lewis's 2014 at CB?

The mom of the grad transfer still works for UM. Her role -- she is a liaison between the parents and school. She handles the Michigan specific responses to the recruits with extensive questionnaires for the school (she had the longest, most detailed questionnaire when her son was recruited). She also has a background in education and helps

I'd say it was another smart hire. Who relates more to the mom of a recruit than someone who was the mom of a recruit?

Yeah. Peppers and Lewis went from unknown players to all Americans in 2015. :L

Peppers was well known and accounted for a whole 6 yards the previous season. No highly rated player ever fails to live up to hype. But they were shitty players. The cupboards were empty from Hoke. Was it you who was telling us how Hoke left no players for Harbaugh to use and that's why you guys will be 1 billion times better this season?

How can anyone call him a legit recruiter when this is how he gets his biggest names? What other coach does stuff like this all the time other than him? Pretty sad if that's what you have to resort to.
