There's no way this would work. Not even close. It would be the biggest dumpster fire in the NBA. The Heat would actually do worse than they are now (which is not saying much).

The reason why the Heat make it work so well is that Wade recognized that Lebron is the better player at this stage of his career and decided to be his Pippen and allow Lebron to be the "Jordan" of the team. I honestly can't say that Melo would make the same move.

Furthermore, there's only one ball to go around to everyone. At the end of the day, all 4 of these players are high caliber and have an ego (to varying degrees). At some point Melo, Wade and especially Bosh aren't going to be content with their further diminished roles on the team.

What the Heat need to do is focus on getting Lebron resigned (as he'll likely opt out) and retool the roster as I'm sure Ray Allen and Shane Battier will ride into the sunset after this season. I can't see Bosh and Wade opting for new deals as these are their last huge pay days of 20+ mil per year.

Probability is so low it's a hard scenario to imagine. Riley would have a plan if he did do this.

Makes me wonder, where is the right place for melo ?

IND or CHI, 2 places with great D and struggling offense anyways.

He could probably do pretty good in the West too, maybe Dallas.

Some people jut don't get the new CBA rules :L

Miami have roughly $50m to play with this summer. But they need to re-sign Lebron, Wade and Bosh to keep the team together. Melo won't take anything less than $20m. Are Lebron, Wade and Bosh going to take a $9m a year paycut? EACH?

The probability that it happens on MIA is twice as likely as it happens on any other team but that is still about 5%.

I am just wondering about on court obstacles.

It's not going to work because now of them would take those low salaries at this point in their careers. They sacrificed a little for those first contracts. No way they sacrifice that much next time.

They all make a ton of money, all have said that Rings are more important. The money that comes with rings makes up for that $5-10m they are giving up anyways. Especially for Melo.

That's IF they win. You'd think a team featuring Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone and Gary Payton would win it multiple times too.

The issue there is wade. He is done, done. Bosh Lbj and melo would have years of opportunity ahead. It's another 2 tom3 years excluding pacers before a real, threat arises.

Wade is far from done. He may not be able to play 75 games per season anymore. The man is still talented. I advise to watch more basketball games.

Last 8 games-21, 5, and 5 on 61% shooting......Yeah he's done

He is still the most efficient SG in the game.

You don't think that is a little irrelevant? Malone was 40, Payton 35. That team also had 38 year old Horace Grant.

Of course it is a big IF but Melo would be a top scorer on a team that went to the finals 3 or 4 years running and won 2 or 3 of the those. Their IF is smaller than any other team in the NBA by a large margin.

His per 36 has dropped a bit this year but it is still very good. That being said Wade maybe only has 1 or 2 years left. He could even retire if they 3peat and that would mean space for Melo which would be a huge down grade over healthy Wade but still a pretty good team. These things all have a way of working them selves out. Every offseason is pretty interesting.

Hold on before you laugh eh?

FG% he is ranked 6th, among the league. Only LBJ and 4 Centers are ahead of him.

PER he is ranked 15th. Of the 14 ahead of him the only one that could be considered a SG is Dragic.

TS% he is out of the top 20 and I see some SGs on the list.

EFG% he is 14th and the players that cold be considered SGs are Korver, Belinelli, Diaw and previously mentioned Dragic. You can see that none of them are true SGs.

He is also 20th in usage.

Wade despite having a down year and rehabbing from injuries is still a great player and now he is healthy...I think...for now.

People who say Wade is done shows their lack of basketball IQ.

He's not the D-Wade that he was 3-4 years ago and his skills are going to continue to diminish. But, done?!? No.

If the Heat can continue to rest him throughout the season as they have been and he can stay close to healthy, he's got a good 2-3 seasons at all-star or close to it level play in him.

Wade pick and chooses his spot these days. When you have LBJ & Bosh on your team you don't have to be aggressive and turn back the clock every game. If you look at Wade game log, he has performed for the most part in the big games.

He also had several great stretches. Matter of fact in the month of February he avg 21,5, and 5 on 61% shooting.
In December he avg 20,4, and 4 on 56% shooting. He's played well in every month this year except January

Then it becomes a question of finance. The Heat won't feature a team of Lebron wade bosh and Melo without ALL of them taking a significant pay cut of around 50% of what they're earning now. Then there is a question of Melo willing to become the #2 option and wade and bosh being #s 3 and 4.

Or one of them could join a rebuilding squad with plenty of cap space and a good draft pick in either the Lakers or Celtics and get a high paying max contract.

All of them stated they want to contend, not rebuild.

Ignore the numbers, assume that they take that pay cut, who plays where and with what roles?

Also assume Melo is willing to be the #1b or #2a or what ever.
