I don't see why LeBron acts like he won't do load management, he's "rested" in the past which is the same thing whether there is an injury included or not. And towards the end of the season if the Lakers have secured their spot in the playoffs, it'll probably happen again.

He thinks we're stupid and we don't remember the times he sat out for "rest".

To be fair, I don't think it had a name when Lebron did it. I think they just called it rest.

Phil Jackson practiced load management with both Shaq and Kobe and won two titles doing so with Kobe in his second round and that is flat out common sense. Today's NBA understands a lot more about physical fitness, exercise and a proper diet. Part of that is taking care of your body so that as you get older, you won't be beat up and having to think about pain management. We all saw what happened to Kobe when D'antoni played Kobe to long game after game. Kobe's body gave out and that's worse for the NBA then some simple common sense measures of health and safety

I'm ok with it but just not this early in the season.

I can live with it starting in late Jan/Feb
it's not about when in the season, in long distance running, if you start out to fast you will not finish. You set a pace for the entire race from start to finish.

The pace is 82 games plus the fn playoffs. That’s the pace.

Business standpoint - 100% understand it

Fan standpoint - 100% sucks.

I read that Load management is more so because players today have ridiculous AAU schedules, are playing 12 games in a weekend and over exerting their bodies early. Kind of equivalent to letting 12 year olds throw nothing but curveballs and throw 100 pitches a game.

I don’t the league or the players are necessarily softer, but there is just so much money at stake for the players and the teams you understand wanting to preserve your stars. But at the same time it sucks for the consumer. I think the NBA should at the very least stipulate that load management cannot be taken for home games.
Agreed there needs to be some kind of protocol the league designs. Maybe no home games. I like TFs idea of announcing the games before the season starts so fans can work around it.

well, I mean by THAT token who knew he'd get hurt? ain't like they concerned themselves with it in older days if you know what I mean...

part of the game...

I mean it'd be great to have a crystal ball and know when someone was gonna get hurt...
Way to miss the point

He did? I don't remember.....it's been a while since the Showtime Lakers and I barely remember what I ate a few days ago for lunch or dinner.
Just check the threads here, you probably posted that

I agree, and it's a long race, so if you can rest a starter, I think helps the player resting and gives the role players more time to develop their skills.

You play when you are healthy, or you are a pussy. Period.

ah, assuming...

trust me, I got EXACTLY what tf12 said. I just came with a counterpoint...

which is what YOU apparently missed...:D

NOPE. You're WRONG. Just BECAUSE you type it doesn't MAKE it true. TF was saying load MANAGEMENT might help players avoid injury BY putting less strain on them, and you countered WITH a comment about not being able to predict when injuries HAPPEN. Which HAS nothing to do with the topic.

I was just copying his style. CL likes to randomly put words in all caps in every post.

She told me you were still a nice kid, but needed me to handle that stuff.
