if those guys didn't put everything on the line when they did....would they be who they are? I say no.

Yeah, that's a good point. If it were "a thing" like it is now, maybe.

But having said that, it's hard to see a guy like Kobe, for example, ever accepting load management.

Heck, he barely took time off in the off-season. lol

Though I would like to say hell yes, i don't believe their handlers would allow it today. the money has caused this transition. go back 20 years and we never read about a college player sitting out a bowl game because of the fear of injury or missing the combine because a bad day could hurt on draft day. The teams are no longer a community pride issue, it's big business.

the day where a player gets up from being knocked out and goes right back to work will never be there again either. we know that. Load management is the same thing. it's a way for the business side of the house to control their investments.

btw...i hate it.

Don't look now, it's slipping into the NFL. LeSean McCoy was given the week off by the Chiefs as a rest week....and they lost to the Titans lol.

Yeah, no way they make those changes. Anything involving fewer games is going to cost teams and players money, so they'll never go for it.

Same with 5 of 7 home games. That will cost them money that comes from a home playoff game.

Honestly, I'm not sure it needs to be fixed other than maybe teams announcing load management games before the season starts and/or the league creating a rule re: how many games a player is allowed to sit out for load management.

Yeah, no way anyone is agreeing to making less money so it's pretty much impossible that we will ever see fewer games in a season. 5 of 7 home games wouldn't really be less money, but each team is taking the risk and betting on themselves that they will be one of the higher seeds. I'm thinking of a 2-1-1-1-1-1 format.

The Chiefs RBs have been taking turns in the doghouse for fumble issues, lol. Makes for a tough read for fantasy football...(I have both on my dynasty team from before they were teammates).

Cuban coming out supporting it, he so wants to hang with all the players 24/7. Malibu’s most wanted thing.

Athletes make more today than ever before. There’s no Incentive to play every game, especially in a league where over half teams make playoffs. There’s also no reason to play 82 games anymore. We know who is making the playoffs or not after 20 games.

Make it a 55-65 game season. Get rid of back2backs and watch every star play every game

And I’m sure the players would be willing to reduce the salary cap by 25% to pay for playing less games

So is Kawhi actually injured? Because resting 3 games in the first dozen games is a bit ridiculous if it's "load management"

Well they're not calling it load management now so safe to assume something minor is going on

Haven't the Clippers already been fined for lying about that?

Well yeah but i can't blame them. Kawhi doesn't want his business out in the public so Doc out of respect for Kawhi said he was fine

Reason for concern? Is this a lingering issue that's going to affect him for the rest of the season and in the playoffs too?
The Lakers can hope.

It bothered him last Season too.

He was gimp. But, he had enough left in the tank to limp across the finish line.

During the summer, I read somewhere that Kawhi's condition is degenerative, and that a healthy dose of load management is the only way to keep him healthy enough to play the whole season. I don't remember where I read it, so it could just be speculation or people playing doctor.

I don't want to hope. If you want to be the best, you got to beat the best. If the Lakers win the 'ship this season I don't want the haters to add an asterisk to it because Kawhi was out.
