Game Thread: Lions vs Chiefs. Thursday night season opener.

I wish they would start the regular season before Labor day and get rid of a few pre-season games. Give each team two bye weeks during the season.

I'll probably miss kickoff as I'll be landing in Vegas Thursday night around 5:30-6pm local. Will need to haul ass through the terminal & get to a pub to catch the game. I'm sure I can find somewhere in the airport with TVs but I'd rather get closer to my destination for the night so that I don't end up drunk with my luggage.

One of these days if I hit the lottery, which ain't happening because I've never bought a ticket, I'm gonna open up a casino and put slot machines on the door of the crapper.

Thanks! Stayin at either my buddies' house (northridge area) or at the MGM. He got us a room comp'd for the weekend, but honestly I don't have much interest in hitting the strip other than to place a few bets at the sportsbooks & play some cards. Can probably do that elsewhere. I've never experienced Fremont so that's high on the agenda list for this upcoming weekend.

Sounds like a million dollar idea... But I have seen the VP machines in urinals before. Can't say that I've ever had to take a sh!t in a public restroom at the vegas casinos. But I imagine someone probably beat you to the punch with this idea.

Should be an offensive shootout if Goff is up to it. Lions IMO have a deadly set of weapons on offense and they have a stud on the DL that can keep opposing offenses from being too damaging, but it is Mahomes.

Given the Hawks play Detroit in week 2.. I'll be curious to see how they look.

Have you been to Vegas before? If you stay at the MGM go to the Omelet House on Boulder Highway. Great food & the best country fired steak & eggs I've ever had. Also if you stay at the MGM the road behind is Koval Lane. If Ellis Island casino is the still same good food.

And never play an slot machines in the front of the casinos. Not many winners on those. If you're superstitious the numbers on the roulette wheel add up to 666. Best odds are on craps.

It's weird how people have that idea of Detroit.

They have St Brown. He is the only sure thing on that offense in terms of playmakers. After him the WR's are EXTREMELY pedestrian and then they have rookies who might be good (might not be too) at RB and TE. But if you are ranking NFL teams by playmakers only, the Lions wouldnt finish in the top half of the league.

That was what the great thing about the Lions last season. It showed you can have a top offense with not a great QB, not a great playmaking set if you have a great OL combined with a great scheme. This game can still be won in the trenches.

They do have a pretty damn good OL though. Although I did forget they got rid of Hockenson... I also for some reason still thought they had Williams...
