now before i get my head bitten off I do think Lebron is "the man" in this era but I had no idea about these stats and how similar they were: (obviously Lebron's stat are probaly better now since that ended in 2015)

Bird was better as the numbers show. But this was a never a big secret outside people living on LeMars.

Its a shame the back injuries cut Bird's prime short

Oh Bird just a year before that was arguably the best to ever play the game in terms of real peak Ball. Dude was INSANELY good. Ive only seen a few guys touch it like MJ in 1992 or Shaq in 2000/2001

Dude was the 2nd best SF of all-time. Great scorer, passer, shooter and defender. Great all-around. That’s just one season though

Real historians will choose Bird. Better leader and overall player and much more of a KILLER on the court in terms of daggers in your heart. If he retired before the constant nagging back injuries, his numbers would have trumped Lebron's in almost every single category of Ball

Lebron has been the best player of the era but there have been better that came before. Out of sight out of mind so to speak. No knock on Lebron though.. He's one HELL of a player. His longevity is outstanding. He's one of the best to do it for sure.

Who cares. They're both all time greats and what one guy accomplished shouldn't take away from what the other guy did himself.

That is one season.

Bird had better stats at age 30.

LeBron was better just about every other year.

The GOAT conversations are cancerous.

Half of twitter spends all day- every day- trying to tear down LeBron or Jordan.
