One thing about Luke that is admirable is that he is fearless in his search for winning combinations. He changed the starting lineup in the win over the Knicks and Tariq Black got his start at center and Ingram at forward. Maybe Mosgov is better coming off the bench like Williams, Clarkson, Nance, and Young.

Los Angeles Lakers shuffle lineup, bury New York Knicks at Garden

Took him long enough to realize Mozgov is trash. Everyone knew that before he even signed the contract. Black is undersized and will likely never be a starting caliber center, but he outhustles and outplays Mozgov 5 times over.

There are several articles speculating that Jerry West is finding returning to the Lakers as a special consultant intriguing. No mention has been made to indicate if a formal offer has been made and who offered it, if any. Perhaps Jeannie is returning to the icon to move forward.

This would be a good addition if he has his mental health issues under control. Time for Metta to go.

Larry Sanders met with the Lakers front office

Yeah, as loved as Metta is around the organization and by his teammates, he would be the most likely candidate as he is the oldest guy (by far) on the roster. The next most likely candidate, imo, should probably be Calderon.

If memory serves, before he took his "personal leave" Sanders was a pretty promising player. If his issues are behind him, this could be a good pick up. He's also only 28, so he's still got some years left in him.

I wonder what the rule would be on just cutting their losses and releasing Mozgov?

I agree TJF12. With the continuing development of Zubac and Tariq Black playing well, Mosgov is slowing becoming an albatross on a number of levels. If the Lakers do move on Sanders, then Metta is done and Calderon has already been mentioned by Cleveland as a potential trade item. I would definitely support those moves.

Now Magic says he wants Kobe to get involved with the Lakers rebuild. I don't think that would be very productive.

Yeah, but 4 years ago it was Jim Buss saying it.
I can see 2 years, but 3-5 is too long!! If he is talking about Championship caliber, I could deal with it, or is he talking about just being a playoff team? Then that process is too long for me.

He said "to get them rolling again" from what we know of Magic, I'd have to assume that he means championship contention. He's not one to consider making the playoffs as a 5-8 seed rolling.

We took a serious ass-whippin' tonight here in Phoenix. I suppose the youngsters didn't want to play a game so close to the All-Star week-end. Geez, 36 point difference. Never showed-up I suppose.

Yeah, I was listening to a sportstalk show out here where they interviewed Don Maclean (whose almost as credible as Woj, imo) and he said it's really no big deal. He said that even veteran teams that no they aren't going anywhere will often mail it in this close to the all star break.

If the proposed trade of Lou Williams to Detroit or wherever, goes down, we will secure a first round pick albeit I believe it to be a 17th protected in the first round. So then, our top three protected would not be such an issue but as things are going, we will secure that one as well.

Now that Cousins is a Pelican, rumors of a Lakers deal with DMC are put to rest. Lou Williams to the Wizards is still out there and we would receive a first round possibly this year. Makes sense on number of levels. The Lakers have until Thursday if they are going to move Calderon and Williams.

On a rather funny side note. Roy Hibbert got traded again this time to the Bucks. Lucky bastards are going to receive one of the most enigmatic wastes of talent to ever grace the courts of the NBA.
