Were either of them in danger of taping or getting KOed?

OUTSTANDING fight. Much closer than Bones/Gus imo. Jones wins the UD 49-46. I had it the same. DC gave it everything he had with an insane pace at the start but Jones never got tired and got him late

I missed the 3rd and 4th rounds where I guess Jones had multiple takedowns. Dont think anyone was close to submission or KO though.

never saw two guys that hate eachother spend so much time hugging eachother. Jon wanted to prove he could take him down and beat him with no reach advantage. jon looked real worried about being taken down,

Nope. Lots of boxing and dirty boxing. Both men fought like hell to get takedowns. Like two bulls wrestling each other for position. Evenly matched. I think Bones got like 4 takedowns, including two big slams in the 4th. DC got 3 or 4, with one huge slam in the 5th

I had it 48-47 Jones. DC was toe to toe 3 rounds in, just gassed out. Great fight

Cormier was winning thru 3 (2 rounds to 1). But he gassed out. His punches slowed down and lacked power.

one judge gave cormier two rounds, the other two gave him 1. This tied into the thread of who can beat Jon Jones and I said only Jon can beat him, and he almost let it happen. His corner constantly yelling to try to get him to use his undeniable 12 inch reach advantage, but instead, Jon took the fight to the clinch to prove he could beat cormier in cormiers fight. He didnt get taken into Cormiers clinch fight, he took the fight there. He chose to take cormier to the mat and show he could wrestle him. Cormier was just not up to the task. Jon dominated the fourth, but his will to beat Cormier directly was to not allow himself to get beat by cormier and prove his point at the same time.

Dana really talked up the fight afterwards, but honestly, I dont think it lived up to the hype because Jon didnt take those big chances and Cormier ran out of gas in the third round.

The first 3 rounds were fantastic, the 4th was a great round for Jones, and the 5th was a snooze fest. I say snooze, because Herb Dean must have slept through it, otherwise he wouldn't have allowed them to sumo hug each other for 5 minutes. I was hoping the last haymaker would have clocked Herbie:L

I have to give Jones credit. He proved he can wrestle with a former Olympian. I think Cormier did his best work with uppercuts in close yet most of the time he was overly focused on getting takedowns. Jones showed very good takedown defense. It was a close fight but a well deserved victory for Jones. It was interesting that his eye poke happened right after he took a big punch from Cormier. That being said, DC just didn't do enough to win.
