They obviously are in love with someone and think they'll get him, but when a "gumby brain patient" team like the jets does something like this you assume they've screwed up until you see otherwise.

In this case there are a lot of ways this could turn out badly and deciding which of these qbs will star in the league and which will fail seems a crapshoot. But to justify this much capital to move from 6 to 3 requires that they are confident their guy is special and the guy they could have picked at 6 isn't. If you say this is a good trade for the jets that means you are trusting that they know which qbs are going to pan out and which aren't, and trusting a team like the jets to be right about this is pretty funny!

At the end of the day we won't know how to assess this until we know the guys the other teams pick and the guy the jets wanted, and how well it all turns out. At this very moment you have to assume they got fleeced because it wouldn't be the jets we know and love if they didn't.

What would you do with the first 2 picks if you're the Browns?

What would I do?, Probably draft Mayfield first overall, and trade down at 4 if the offer is good enough. Chubb and Landry are really fucking good so I'd want a legit offer from someone, and I'd have the leverage to do it with the Broncos holding the 5th pick. Would probably draft and RB with one of their 2nd round picks. Possibly consider trading up into the late first for Guice.

Biggest loser is probably the Bills. Their main competition to trade up for Rosen is now picking ahead of them, and the Giants could just take a QB if they don't sell the farm to them.

Saints and Dolphins are more team Mayfield than Allen/Rosen.

My guess is Rosen. He's definitely not going to Cleveland.

Highsmith was at Rosen's pro day and came away impressed. He will have a private workout for the Browns soon. Not sure I would believe the misdirection. The Browns have been very close-mouthed . . . they knew for a week that Thomas was retiring but it did not get out. In fact, the opposite was coming from all the Browns "insiders".

Mayfield, Rosen, and Darnold could all be gone at 4 leaving you with Lamar Jackson, Mason Rudolph, and Josh Allen with teams like the Jags, Saints, Dolphins, and Cardinals looking to get a QB as well. At 4 those are huge reaches, and it just gets more bumpy trying to draft a QB afterwards.

How could they all be gone at 4? Browns own 2 of the top 4 meaning only 2 of the 3 could be gone when it is their turn to pick at #4
