I'm still 50-50 on him leaving - the NHL has a very long and storied history of players who re-sign with their teams despite having next to no reason to do so for some reason - but if I'm the Isles, I'm probably shopping him now. They're gonna suck again next year unless they trade all their prospects and even that won't guarantee anything. What would a team like the Habs give up to have JT for the next two playoff runs before Price needs an extension? How much better are the Wild with JT at 1C and Staal/Koivu following him down the depth chart? What kinda wacky shit would Benning offer?

If it hasn't happened already, Snow needs to flat out ask JT his opinion on extending because he's probably as valuable an asset right now as he'll ever be to them. If he wants to explore, start working the phones.
