Yes, after this SB win I think it will pretty much solidify him as the greatest of all time as much as it pains me to say as a Joe Montana fan and all the great things he did Brady has put together a more impressive career and might even add some more hardware if he can stay healthy.

Nice chart. Pretty damm close.

The only thing going against Brady is that he lost 2 Superbowls and even threw some interceptions.

Montana was just so automatic once he got to the Superbowl I still give him a slight edge.

1/1A

But to my friends it's

It's wicked Brady forevah!

In terms of resume when factoring in eras, imo its probably

1) Otto Graham
2) Joe Montana
3) Tom Brady
4) Peyton Manning

But its really hard to compare eras. Brady has 3 rings from the end of one short era (the 'lets not call pass interference era) and 1 ring from the pass happy era of today.

Peyton was gifted 1 ring from having a great defense but Bill Polian surrounded him with a finesse team in the 'lets not call pass interference era and he didnt have the right teams to win playoff games.

But if you have just one guy to win one game, I'm picking Aaron Rodgers or Steve Young over any of these guys.

Can't argue with your order, but especially after watching this years run, being down 14 twice and 10 points in 4th quarter, Brady coming back is my clutch guy. Him and Montana have ice in their veins. Brady has 11 4th Q comebacks in playoffs

He was but if it wasn't for Terrell Davis - somehow not a Hall of Famer - then he'd have a worse legacy than Peyton.

Elway's stats stink up the joint, too. Thats why its so hard to compare eras. Elway would be much better in today's game. Elway's stats just make him look like some average QB

I totally agree. It is very hard to compare eras. But, I do remember Elway ripping my heart out more than once in the last 2-3 minutes of a game after he had stunk it up the first 57 minutes or so.

What could you expect from Montana's replacement? Nothing.
And with those impossible shoes to fill ...Young becomes a phenomenal talent and gets 3 rings of his own.

never saw Young near the greatest ever.
Certainly had one of the best seasons ever.

Odds are Brady is going to shut the door on this debate in terms of resumes. If he makes one more Super Bowl, the whole narrative of that Super Bowl will be him being the best ever. He has hit the peak with Montana and he has a team set up to win for a couple of years.

kinda like Aikman and Staubach

I forgot about Staubach. I'll bump Rodgers for him for now. Rodgers still has several years left.

They need to keep Revis. That's a huge key.

true... but a season isn't top 10 all time.
He doesn't sit at that table IMO
Best QB for a game and best resume for a QB are 2 totally different things.

Staubach might be #5 for me. I think he was a lot better than Aikman. I always think of Emmitt Smith and that oline before I think of Aikman and Irvin.

Rodgers probably bumps someone before he's through. Marino is the only one without a ring. I've never been a big rings = QB greatness believer but I'm not interested in that argument today or I'd include Jurgensen, too.

For my money Staubach was the best QB of the 70s.

I hope Gronk takes it a little easy on the offseason partying. :L

He 'd better stay away from Bieber. Actually I know the guy he rooms with Robbie Goon, kinda the Turtle on entourage and his cousin Dana Parenteau

Yes. Just like Jordan and Barry, it's been an honor to watch him play the game live.

Mayo should be back too! Please stay healthy this time lol

Mayo is starting to remind me of Sean Lee. Great talent, great character but can't stay on the field. I really hope that changes for both of them next season.
