I think those are a little more dark greenish throughout.

For sure. Maybe a young steelhead then. Rainbows should have spots on their taails and dorsal fin.

    young steelhead..

Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure steelhead and rainbow trout are the same species, it's just a matter of whether or not they migrate in and out of the river to the lake and then back to the river to spawn.

Ya, steelhead are coastal rainbows. They generally look a little different tho, and I think the differences are more drastic when they are young.

Either way...jealous ya even got to go out. Haven't been out yet. 2 kids under 5, and trying to sell our house and build another. Couple that with swollen rivers that haven't even started their run-off yet....

Might be a slow year for fishing fer me:pout:

I took my little son fishing for the first time last week. He caught 3 perch and one rock bass. Since then, we have only had chance to go one other time and that time we didn't catch anything. He wants to go every day now though. I have to believe it is the most father-son thing ever. He never stops talking about how he like to go fishing even if he doesn't catch anything.

Where we go is about 200 yards from house and fish next to a little bridge on the Huron River. Walking distance.
