I think those are a little more dark greenish throughout. That looks like a young steelhead or a Lake Trout(Mackinaw).

Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure steelhead and rainbow trout are the same species, it's just a matter of whether or not they migrate in and out of the river to the lake and then back to the river to spawn. For sure. Maybe a young steelhead then. Rainbows should have spots on their taails and dorsal fin.
young steelhead..

That's awesome!!I took my little son fishing for the first time last week. He caught 3 perch and one rock bass. Since then, we have only had chance to go one other time and that time we didn't catch anything. He wants to go every day now though. I have to believe it is the most father-son thing ever. He never stops talking about how he like to go fishing even if he doesn't catch anything.
Where we go is about 200 yards from house and fish next to a little bridge on the Huron River. Walking distance.
Nice!! What did you catch him on?

That tiger trout is one hell of a pretty fish. I've never seen one of those before.Took the daughter out over the Holiday weekend, ended with 5 tiger trout, 1 brown and a couple sunfish.

Thanks man, they're pretty neat. They put them in there to try and keep the sunfish and tench population down. It doesn't really work but the tiger trout are sterile and grow pretty fast and eat really well. That tiger trout is one hell of a pretty fish. I've never seen one of those before.
Ya, steelhead are coastal rainbows. They generally look a little different tho, and I think the differences are more drastic when they are young.
Went on my big Canadian fishing trip last week and it was a blast. We had our own private dock on a huge massive lake that has over 150 miles of coastline. The only private land was the camp we stayed on, the rest was federal land. So the only boats on the water (less than 20) were from our camp, no public boat launches. It also helped we were about 45 minutes away from the closest town, which was basically a Subway with two gas stations. Anyway, here are some pics:
Fishing a waterfall
Cool night shot
And here's my best fish of the week, about a 16-18'' smallmouth, super fat
Agreed!Gorgeous. Looks like heaven
