My high school is playing for a state title tonight. I played for one in '91 and lost. Good luck to my boys tonight! Have any of you played for one? When you're 17 or 18 years old it's the biggest moment of your life.

I played a little. Biggest claim to fame was getting called for a clip on what would have otherwise been a long TD run in 7-0 loss to our biggest rival. I was much better in sandlot ball, where there were no damn refs!

Lost in Semi-finals my Jr year, lost in first round to a prep school my Sr year.

We sucked...Naples FL playing against teams from big cities when the population was only 30k. (now it's 300k) I was strong safety and back-up fullback.

Hated the coaches...such idiots. I probably should have not played at stayed at my night job.

Yep lost 17 - 10 in the State Semi-Finals, had the ball second and goal when time ran out.

Was a freshman, got to play for a title with my brother against eventual National Champion John Curtis (Joe McKnight is a tool). Played in a semi-final game against Curtis my Senior year. Only lost by one point when we played in the regular season, a guy was stomping on one of our players nuts when my teammate shoved him off we got the 15 yard penalty. Missed the fg and eventually lost. For the semi-final game we played in 30 degree weather, 30 mph winds and pouring down rain. Curtis would go on to schedule the game where they could run in and out of a heater filled locker room mid-game and changed their uniforms at the half. Needless to say we got railed in the game.

Closest I got to a State Championship in Ohio was as a ballboy when I was in 7th-9th grade.
Got to be on the sidelines for each Divisions Championship Game.
Newark Catholic was there every year.
My HS team wasnt any good we were in the small ass school division.
