Part of catching success is the pitchers. I think Price has had a lot of impact on that. But Hanigan is a better aim than Mesoraco. Meso will be OK once he learns not to rush it so much.
The Reds catching has been great. Hanagan has always been good, and Mesoraco is coming along. And if he gets his stroke down a little more Maybe even Dusty will bat him some place in the order higher than 8th
People would have though Dusty Baker was a better hitter if Hank Aaron wasn't on his team, too. Mesoraco's arm is superior to Hanigans, but he's bigger, and the 0.1 seconds better velocity on his throw doesn't make up for his additional 0.2 seconds of box out and throw. Catching Bailey and Leake more, and Latos, Arroyo and Cueto less isn't going to give Mesoraco an advantage in CS either. They both kick Javier Valentin's azz.
