I don't mind the guy talking trash. It's genuinely who he has always been. It's nice to see some colorful coaches (ala Leach, etc.) in a world of coach-speak.

He started off as something of a sideshow, but that ended at his last stop, where he had wild success. The only question was whether his style would translate to Colorado, to bigboy football. So far, his Colorado team looks well-coached. He's been smart enough to hire good assistants and his big-picture style has got Colorado turned in the right direction.

I do want to see how he reacts after a bad loss, but I doubt we'll see him get quiet. He's gonna stay loud just b/c that is who he is.

I must confess to being much more the fan of pro sports. And that coach V seems more remembered for his unfortunate passing and his foundation. And the ads for it played on ESPN.
But yes, much is made of the college coach.
Especially in college basketball.

Can't remember which coach said this (I think Dean Smith or Roy Williams) about college basketball coaches.
To paraphrase, "Coach calls a time out and sets a play, such as Point Guard passes to Forward passes to Center, if Center is covered Forward passes back to Point Guard, at which point recruiting takes over".

I do think we can put to rest though that Colorado should be a national story after they squeaked by a pitiful Colorado State team. Most non blue blood schools would fall out of the top 25 for that performance.

i hate deion always have even when he was a redskin,but i give him credit for doing a hell of a job with colorado this year.he,s not the best college coach like he said on 60 mns last night,but he,s doing a great job this year.

I would love to see his success continue this season, but even if it doesn't, and these next 3-4 games doesn't go his way, I would still label this season as being an absolute success story. He, his coaching staff, and these kids in Colorado have been so good for college football this season. Can't wait to watch them play on Saturday (and I've never been a Colorado fan...I'm still bitter at them from the Michigan game 30 years ago)

I bet these same guys love Larry Bird who was pretty much the biggest trash talker ever. Clay Travis is the Tucker Carlson of sports.
