A bit of a mixed bag for me. He absolutely changed the game with his approachs to scouting and deserves credit for it. And when the other teams adopted his processes and philosophies, they blew right past him. It isn’t hard to look at the demise of the 80’s Cowboys and not point the finger at him as a primary cause.

Your wisdom & knowledge will be missed.
Thanks for what you did for our Cowboys. Your hard work scouting players graced so many TV screens on Thanksgiving alone across America thanks to Tex and made many so many fans often feel “the thrill of Victory” and anti Cowboys fans “ the agony of defeat” to quote the late Jim McCay your legacy is well done. Now it is time to Join the team on the other side and renew old friendships with Tom, Tex, Larry and the many other people who had roles big and small that made the Cowboys great while you enjoy your eternal reward for a life well lived. Condolences to your wife Sara, family and friends all over the world. May the good Lord give them peace and strength as they mourn your passing of a life well lived until you meet again.
