Still a few days until the teams are announced, and some of these races are close, so bare with me a bit. Also, I THINK they go with a 30-man roster, plus the fan choice, so I am going with a 30 man...

Starters
P - Dickey NYM
C - Posey SF
1B - Votto Cin
2B - Uggla Atl
SS - Furcal StL
3B - Wright NYM
OF - Braun
OF - Kemp
OF - Beltran

SP - Cain SF
SP - Vogelsong SF
SP - Strasburg Wsh
SP - Gonzalez Wsh
SP - Beechy - Atl
SP - Kershaw LA
SP - Miley Arz
SP - Lohse StL
RP - Kimbrel Atl
RP - Casilla SF
RP - Hanrahan Pit
RP - Street SD
C - Ruiz Phi
C - Molina StL
2B - Altuve Hou
SS - Castro Chi
3B - Freese StL
OF - Gonzalez Col
OF - Stanton Mia
OF - McCutchen Pit
OF - Cabrera SF

I ALMOST left Leche off and included Bum, but I added Lohse instead of Holliday.

That's 5 for StL and SF, 3 for Atl. I could not warrant giving the Gs 6 players, even though they MORE than deserve it. It simply aint gonna happen. I also gave StL every benefit of the doubt. Defending Champs ALWAYS get over-represented. I did not account for Kemp's replacement, either. That will probably be Holliday (maybe Pence).

I see you're going with the East Coast bias over Cain, which is totally legitimate they are both having GREAT seasons so far, but... Two 1-hitters vs a perfect game a 1-hitter and a 2-hitter. Might depend upon how well each of them pitch today...

I tried to make picks based more on who I think will get the picks over who I think deserve the picks.

I agree the next few days will say A LOT about who makes the team.

The visiting NL starting lineup will look like this:

Giants catcher Buster Posey, the 2010 NL Rookie of the Year, has bounced back from a devastating ankle injury that wiped out last season to earn the starting nod behind the plate in his first appearance in the Midsummer Classic. Joining Posey in the NL's starting lineup are teammates Pablo Sandoval, who was named to last year's team by Giants manager Bruce Bochy, at third base and fellow first-time All-Star Melky Cabrera in the outfield.

Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto is slated to make his third appearance in the All-Star Game, but his first start. Joining the slugger in the infield are Atlanta second baseman Dan Uggla and St. Louis shortstop Rafael Furcal, who both have been part of two All-Star teams but will be making their first starts.

St. Louis veteran Carlos Beltran, who is making his seventh All-Star Game appearance, and injured Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp, who was voted in as a starter for the second consecutive year, round out the rest of the NL outfield.

LaRussa won't take six Giants. Sorry Santiago. Expect Horse and Tron to be added.

Tron was screwed as well (from Pavlovic):

The National League pitchers: Matt Cain, Aroldis Chapman, R.A. Dickey, Gio Gonzalez, Cole Hamels, Joel Hanrahan, Clayton Kershaw, Craig Kimbrel, Lance Lynn, Wade Miley, Jonathan Papelbon, Stephen Strasburg, Huston Street.

Ryan Vogelsong and Madison Bumgarner didn’t make it, although there will be replacements and they haven’t announced the Final Fan Vote yet. Thought this was funny:

Lance Lynn: 10-4, 3.62 ERA, 1.25 WHIP; Vogelsong: 7-3, 2.23 ERA, 1.15 WHIP; Bumgarner: 10-4, 2.85 ERA, 1.06 WHIP.

No wonder Vogelsong still has a chip on his shoulder. He’s fourth in the league in ERA, by the way…

Brandon Belt came in second at first base. He almost beat out Joey Votto. WOW.

If Belt had beaten out Votto, that would almost surely mark the end of fan voting.

Yep, it was that rush to get Leche and Buster voted in that carried Panda past
Wright.

Panda screwed Tron.

I could see Bum and Tron getting in as replacements.

Half those starters will most likely be out cause they pitch withing 3-4 days of the game.

I love how Giants fans support their players...but no way should Pablo beat out Wright. In fact, while I voted for Melky and Posey 25 times, I voted for Wright just as much.

Am actually a little embarrassed that Pablo got in and Belt almost got in.

I hear ya, but St Louis fans should be equally embarrassed that Lynn made the squad, there are anywhere from 13-17 starting pitchers who pitched better than him in the first half.

Seems like it's every year the fans vote someone in who is undeserving or the manager brings one of his guys who is undeserving.

Anyway Wright should be the starter for sure.

I saw this and thought "Panda being selected means a pitcher will get screwed."

LaRussa won't take six Giants. Sorry Santiago. Expect Horse and Tron to be added.

I'm pretty sure that isn't correct - IIRC, "the players" vote for pitchers ("the players" being "players, managers, coaches"). So this is also a vote, and not up to just the manager. The manager for each team just picks "the rest" of the roster (after the starting players and pitchers are determined) - well, except for the final "fan vote" for the last player they instituted a few years ago.

So I don't see how the starters influence the choice of pitchers - unless "the players" know the results of the fan voting before casting their vote. Especially in a situation where Panda made it in just under the wire (in the last few days, or even hours).

Edit: Just minutes after typing and submitting the above, I remembered my 3rd grade math and figured out why and how "Panda being selected means a pitcher will get screwed" probably was 100% true. Fucking bastard LaRussa.

Total agreement. It's nice to prevent deserving guys from getting snubbed but having guys like Belt and Sanchez almost making it is ridiculous

Giants' fan jctGamer responds:

I don't give a shit that Pablo beat out David Wright.

Remember Placido Polanco? Remember Shane Victorino? Remember Derek jeter? Yeah. That was then. This is now. The Giants are a PR machine now. Droves of casual fans are flocking to this team like Tommy LaSorda to Lasagna. Not only do they want to be associated with the Giants, but they want the world to know that they are associating with the Giants. They want their voice heard. Their faces recognized. Their influence realized.

And let me taste the delicious tears from the East Coast media and fans bitter about their beloved stars beaten out by their west coast counterparts. It was destiny when Shane Victorino won the final vote. It was justice when Placido Polanco started at 3B. What is it now?

Karma.

FUCK YOUSE. FUCK YOUSE. FUCK YOUSE.
