Personally? I'm fucking terrified of Germany.

It's an inclusion game for them.

Germany has the ability to absolutely go off on anyone in this tournament.

Without a doubt. That is why we wanted to see second stringers in our matchup. They looked off today, whether this is temporary or what we can expect. We need to beat Portugal and at least secure our position in the round of 16.

"Just beat Portugal" sounds good on paper, but while everyone is now pointing out that the US Germany game just got more interesting because Germany will have something on the line, so does Portugal tomorrow. Lose and they are out. You don't think they will be firing everything they have?

So looking at what every team has on the line and how desperate each is now, and over the possibilities in the next game, are kind of all we have until the games are actually played.

Certainly possible. Get a win against Portugal and then play a conservative game against Germany and that's exactly what could happen.

Only thing I'll predict about tomorrow is a US win and the total viewership of this tournament goes up by at least another 10%. A loss and they lose 50% of the US audience.

Definitely rooting for the win tomorrow even though I still think its unlikely. It's just weird that a "win and in" scenario wasn't really the best option for us. Maybe "best" isn't the right word. If Germany beat Ghana, we definitely had a path of least resistance thing going on and that's huge in this group. Now there's just little room for error. But on the positive side, it will certainly be rewarding to get through now. No way to back into the Round of 16. Every team has to earn it now.

No issue with the result today.. I know a lot if ppl we're rooting for the German win but why can't we go win this group? Jody out hurts bad but Ronaldo is banged up also. We need to put 3-4 defenders on him at all times. Bradley needs to have a big day and hopefully someone steps up and becomes a hero! (Johannsson/Diskerud)

I like the USAs chances tomorrow. Klins has purposely sandbagged us going into the WC warmup games and his speeches about how much we can compete against the teams with the hype going into this thing.
Plus the group of death stuff. Some of it was justified. FIFA deliberately tried to fuck us as usual. But I think we are a better team than many see us as.

It's because of this that many believe we weren't a team capable of making it past the group matches. I look at the performance of the USMNT since Klins took over and believe we can beat Portugal tomorrow. We've got the talent and coaching to do it.
