Well, what do you know, the sun came up this morning, hot and humid here in the central valley. The birds are singing. The Giants have lost a bunch of games in a row in a manner not befitting a team of their stature. And the world has not come to an end. So bring it on today, Matt Cain.

my guess

Blanco, lf
Moped, 2b
Posey, c
:panda:, 3b
Pence, rf
BB9, 1b
Perez, cf
Abreu, ss (or maybe Kobe)
Cainer, p

Have a good one, gents.

From Baggs last night:

Bochy suggested backing off the early hitting, and he’ll talk to Hensley Meulens about that. Then again, the Giants are 3-9 after a day off. So you can’t say they’re overworking themselves into a funk.

When things are not working, perhaps try something else?

had a good conversation with a fellow Giants fan last night. He said the giants don't look like World Series contenders.

I countered with "at what point did the Giants look like World Series contenders during the season in 2010 and 2012?"

I will admit this has been a rough few months and would feel a lot better being in first rather than fourth but no team running away with the division gives me hope

De La Rosa at only 52 pitches through 4 innings.

(sigh)

I say this semi-jokingly. But Arias was actually better than Sandoval has been since he came back. Sandoval will turn it around but he certainly hasn't helped our lack of offense

I love Panda ... but I wonder what I'll be saying 2-3 years from now ... my concern is his health and just how injury prone is he .... and will be as he gets older ....

And the FPOM's, especially after a walk, are maddening!

I realize Panda has a firm conviction that he can hit any pitch, ANY pitch. A foot outside? No problem. THree bounces to the plate? Easy.

What makes it maddening is that if he waited for decent pitches, he would be a truly amazing hitter. His confidence in his own ability to hit is his gift, and his downfall.
