Why not? Seemed to work last time, and it provides Buster with a little relief day game after a night game. Only downside is losing Belts bat, but Chez3 ain't a slouch...

Buster, Riot and Nate own Babs

Queefier and Rivera with Freak ownage. Fuck those fucking fucks. 6-0 good guys!

I'm wondering if this is an indication that Bochy wasn't satisfied with how Posey was calling Timmy's games.

I think it is more that Timmeh is a bit of a mental midget when it comes to his catchers, and he NEEDS to have the right handler. For whatever reason, he just isnt comfortable with Posey...

No prob with that. Pitchers have had personal catchers for years. Timmeh is not unique in this.

Tough to say, but I'd doubt it. Posey is a good signal caller and youd think Cranium would be the first to see that.

I think he just wants to get Freak going and the Chez3 mojo helps...

This is also the most effective way to get regular breaks for the No. 1 catcher.

I believe the reason is that Timmy needs to throw pitch sequences similar to Zito's. That's the theory I'm advancing.

... and Posey is seeing the ball way too well to give him two days off in a three-game series (plus, it's against the Dodgers... and like they would give him that many days off, anyway). It is a bummer that a good left-handed bat is on the bench, but the bright side is that the Giants have a great defensive replacement that is seeing the ball very well. What are the chances that they send Posey behind the dish in the later innings after a Belt double switch in a close game?

You'd think Posey would adjust to Timmy's diminished fastball command, and pitch backwards more often, but he didn't in the games I watched closely.

All in all, not a bad idea, regardless of the catcher. Imagine a right-handed Zito that can throw a 93-mph fastball with a slightly worse curve, better slider and better change-up.

Pretty slim I'd guess. First, you'd be taking your reserve catcher out of the game and be left with Fat Panda. Second, youd be taxing Posey. Third, in the NL Belt has a lot of value as a late inning PH.

I'd expect Posey to get a complete day off when Zeets pitches and an occasional start at 1B when Freak pitches.

Yeah, but I think Timmy needs to abandon the four-seam fastball, and go with the two-seamer. For Timmy, it bores into RHH and should complement the off-speed stuff very effectively.

Then in the off-season I'd work long-toss to try to get some velocity back, because Timmy seems to be the type of competitor that relishes beating people even when they know what's coming.

Concur wholeheartedly. A 93-mph 2-seamer would be even better. :) Can't rep. AB: SOCIALISM IS FOR MESSAGE BOARDS AND 20-YEAR OLD PHILOSOPHY MAJORS.

That might have been his blow-up inning, and he got out of it. Still early, but we may have our 4th Ace back...

Never happy to see injuries, even for the Dogs, but it certainly helps the G's.
