Next year will tell me all I need to know. The schedule next year is brutal so I am giving Riley and the staff to get Tanner Lee and the offense fine tuned, and Diaco to get the 3-4 put in place and executed. Add in one more year of recruiting and I expect this team to be competitive with every team on the schedule next year.

Obviously I want to win this year as well. But me personally, I will not listen to any talk of the "hot seat" until next year.

Just my 2 cents.
this. next year is the year. i mean he doesn't need to got 12-0 but it's gotta look a hell of a lot better than it has so far this year.

If a team puts 42 points on us in a half he's got some slain in to do. If that team is comparable or close in talent to us I'm turning the fire up.

Regarding the fair catch he did say Monday a fair catch on the 5 yard line is ridiculous and I tend to agree. Some things you should not have to tell a freshman in college let alone a senior. At some point you have to move forward. I choose to assume he just had a brain fart at the most inopportune time.

Same here. By the end of this season (2017) it will be warm at worst with me. It entirely depends on if the team makes competitive improvement throughout the year. That is my expectation.
The end of 2018 would be 'hot' with me if clear competitive improvements aren't being made.
I view it in how a team finishes the last part of the season.

2008 - (4-0) includes Clemson Gator Bowl win
2009 - (3-1) includes Arizona Holiday Bowl win. Lost Big 12 CCG Texas (12-13)
2010 - (1-3) includes Big 12 Oklahoma CCG loss. Washington Holiday Bowl loss.
2011 - (2-2) includes S Carolina Capital One Bowl loss
2012 - (2-2) includes Big 10 CCG loss. Georgia Capital One Bowl loss
2013 - (2-2) includes Georgia Capital One Bowl win.
2014 - (1-3) includes USC Holiday Bowl loss.

2015 - (3-1) includes UCLA Foster Farms Bowl win
2016 - (2-2) includes Tennesee Music City Bowl loss

bo pleeny finished his first 2 seasons strong with 'he who shall not be named' recruits.
Riley began his first 2 seasons with bo pleeny recruits.

When a team is wavering Top 18 to 25 and loses 2 of the final 4 games of the season They are not likely going to finish Top 25. It's not showing momentum going into the next recruiting cycle.
If those 2 losses are combined (close) CCG and New Years 6 bowls losses than that's a different story. At least they got there and it is a selling point to how close they are. Not how far away they are.

Spread is now down to 12 to 13 points on most boards now. One site is down to 11.

Still like the Huskers by at least 17.

Then again I like Illinois getting 17.5 at USF tonight too. :D
