Actually that's 1/51st. The Salary cap takes into account the top 51 highest paid players on a team to get their Salary cap numbers. Just wanted to share that.
Ok, thanks, top 51 vs 53.

Alex Mack voided his final 3yrs with the Browns. Would be a very nice add but it sounds like his agent will start the bidding at around 10mil a year. Just a tad too expensive.

Don't see Seahawks signing anyone expensive. With only 23 million minus the cost of the draft, it's going to be a challenge for the front office.

17 FA's still unsigned... Hawks still have to use some of that money to sign their own and sign the players they draft... Plus, word is that they may be working on a new contract for Baldwin...

Mmmm went back and looked and they still count Lynch as on the roster. So it will be 29 million.

As far as I know - Lynch hasn't filed any retirement paperwork or even officially announced to the NFL. Until he does, he's still under contract.

That figure could get a little higher if the rumors are true both Jax and Atl want his services. Irvin might want to stay, but that kind of coin he can't and shouldn't pass up.

Not sure how much Irvin gets, I take reports like this with a grain of salt, but whatever it ends up being, it will be more then the Seahawks can afford.

The Seahawks have tendered a number of restricted or exclusive rights free agents, according to a report, including center Patrick Lewis, cornerback DeShawn Shead and tight end Cooper Helfet.

The Seahawks have given a qualifying tender offer to restricted free agent center Patrick Lewis, and also have given tenders to six exclusive rights free agents including cornerback DeShawn Shead and tight end Cooper Helfet.

The Seahawks, according to a report from USA Today, gave Lewis a low tender offer of $1.67 million. That means that the Seahawks have the right to match any offer Lewis may receive. If not, then Lewis will play the 2016 season for $1.67 million. Most of the time, players given the low tender are not made other offers and play at the tender number.

The move means the Seahawks will almost certainly keep in the fold a player who became their starting center for the second half of the season — Lewis started eight regular season games as well as both playoff games.

It also means a significant raise for Lewis, who played last season for $585,000.

The report also initially stated that the Seahawks have tendered six players who were exclusive rights free agents, including Shead ($760,000) and Helfet ($600,000) and later added that Seattle also tendered DT A.J. Francis, LB Eric Pinkins, DB Steven Terrell and CB Mohammed Seisay. Seattle has two other ERFAs who have yet to be tendered in CB Marcus Burley and DT Jesse Williams.

The tenders are a raise for both Shead and Helfet — Shead made $660,000 last season and Helfet $510,000.

Teams have until Wednesday to make tender offers to their restricted and ERFA players.

A few other interesting restricted free agents for Seattle are RB Christine Michael, OL Alvin Bailey and FB Derrick Coleman. Depending on the tender, teams can get compensation if a restricted free agent gets a better offer and signs elsewhere. The Seahawks, though, may also be gambling they can re-sign some of their restricted free agents for less than the tender amount.

Keeping Shead and Seisay retains some needed depth at cornerback with the future of unrestricted free agent Jeremy Lane uncertain. And Helfet will return for a fifth season with the Seahawks adding tight end depth having first signed with Seattle in 2012.

Terrell can play just about everywhere in the secondary and also on special teams. Francis adds depth at defensive tackle and Pinkins could make a run at a strongside linebacker spot that could have some uncertainty if Bruce Irvin departs via free agency, as is generally anticipated.

Shead started six games last season, including one at strong safety and at both cornerback and nickelback. Helfet officially started two games and had 13 catches for 130 yards, tied for seventh on the team.
