I gotta go with some assumption that the Marc Gasol issue has been looming and nothing that recently has surfaced. I feel like if the Grizzlies fired him after one disagreement with their star player and coach, that's an incredibly shitty thing to do. If you're a potential head coach with multiple situations you're mulling over, the Grizzlies now have to be towards the bottom of the barrel after this.

But at the end of the day your star players have to be aligned with the coaching staff. There's no way your organization can succeed on any level if your star player and head coach don't generally like each other.

Well Memphis only has 3 more years of paying Chandler Parsons 24M a year. So they have that going for them...

Conley's only played half the year too. Their roster is at the bottom of the league in overall talent. Their second best player for most of the year has been Tyreke Evans. The guy starting for Conley wasn't even on a roster last year.

It's crazy. What did management expect out of this bunch. It's why I was really surprised when some people predicted them to be in the playoffs.

That Gasol comment came off a bit as fiz wouldn't do it to conley because he's black. Wouldn't be shocked if gasol went to management and made it seem like a race deal

I predicted Gasol would be traded.

He started crying in the Summer about thinking about a change if they were not competitive.

I think he feels like he was disrespected by Fizz not even being willing to give him an explanation as to why he was being benched.

ThAt wouldn't have happened to Conley because he's a leader in and off the floor.

I don't know if that applies to Marc.

But, he is their franchise guy.

I think Gasol and Conley are the untouchables......the rest not so much.

Evans may be dealt with the way he's playing. He might be a nice fit off the bench for some contender. He's rejuvenated his career imo.
