OK... here is where i am at NOW

Offense: 8 categories with 4 half categories

BA, BB, XBH, HR(.5), RBI(.5), Runs, SB, K, CS(.5),GIDP(.5)

Pitching:

ERA- Hits- BB- QS- W(.5)- L(.5)- S+H- K-HR


I haven't changed the pitching yet... as i like @Driaz idea of using specific positions, with a set amount of SP, RP, and general pitchers...

Why do the offense and pitching stats have to match? EX. If you do away with half cats in milk's last post it would then be 10x9.

balance otherwise hitters become more important
same reason pitching stats need to balance between SP and RP
now i like the idea of making both SP and RP having to be used or make it min and max IP

btw is this going to be weekly or daily?

I think blown save should be a cat (or half), as they do not always result in a loss.

I do agree... The problem is that relief pitchers are already second fiddle... don't want to weaken them.... Kind of like why we had to take away CS.... But if there is a save% maybe that could be a half instead...

I get the "want to balance it" part, but we should also respect the fact that RP actually are second fiddle too.

absolutely... But don't you think blown saves are counted in other categories... Like ERA, WHIP, and HOPEFULLY losses...

and unfortunately save% is not an option... Don't understand why not... but i guess fantrax can't do everything...

Yeah. Catchers are offensively second fiddle.

But I'm a catcher, so that's as far as I'll go with that. In "real" baseball, they are most important.

Still trying to find the best pitching setup... But i think there is no perfect setup without maximum and minimum innings, and restrictions to how many RP you can use.... and as this is a dynasty/empire, we really need to keep SP as the DOMINANT position...

Slim pickings on Fantrax for non premium pitching stats. After looking at it, with my above ideas move QS to 1/2. Add Starter W and L instead of W and L, then move both to 1 point. So

1 point is Starter W, Starter L, S + H, ERA, Hits, BB, and K

1/2 point is QS and HR

I actually like IRS, allows us not to ONLY own closers and set up men... its a category for ALL RP, and they don't need to be pitching in a saves or hold opportunity...

A vast majority of the time, a back end Reliever comes into the game at the start of an inning. For the most part this is a stat for the reliever who only faces 1 batter, and whomever follows him.
