Mejia is now five games away from matching a 55-game hit streak by a player with the last name Mejias.

Like tz pointing out that he poops or me making stupid jokes or Marco explaining rules. Some things just don't need to be pointed out...

Ok, these 3 OFers have to be playing at too low a level, right? They are all just KILLING the SAL.

I think Reynolds has to start in SJ next year, but what about Quinn and Brusa? Do all three move up together? That would be an aggressive placement, but so far, they have all shown that they deserve it.

I think Reynolds is a lock, and probably Quinn too. No one in Augusta is really pushing the envelope, and all the San Jose guys have done well enough to move on. Fargas will get another shot. The Giants were ultra aggressive with their college guys this year and it's really paid off for many.

Oh, yeah, the suspension, I forgot about that. Now I'm REALLY curious...since he retired and now has UNretired, does the 100 game clock start ticking now, or will they count the games he missed post-retirement? If it's the first option, then sheesh, he really effed up because that would mean he's out until well into next season.

The 100-game suspension starts the day he was (re-) signed. Before that he wasn't in professional ball, so he wasn't 'suspended', he decided to take his shiny ball and go home and play with himself.

I would guess that it counts starting now since he is on the restricted list. What I don't know if how the reserve list works (@MarcoPolo ). Since he is technically still part of the organization, does the games he miss still count or is it because he retired, those games don't count but the org still has control over his rights?

A player on the restricted list is not paid and does not earn service time.

Oops!!

A player who is suspended for violation of the ban on the use of a prohibited substance or a suspension or leave of absence related to a violation or possible violation of the MLB domestic violence/child abuse policy is automatically placed on the Restricted List by MLB, and the suspended player does accrue MLB or minor league service time if placed on the Restricted List for this reason.

This will interest no Giants fan, but since it hasn't been reported yet on Twitter and I heard it, Iowa Cubs closer Felix Pena is being called up to the big leagues. I would tweet it but..yeah.

Am going to try and get injury updates on Pena (carted off on Monday) and Parker (out of lineup for four days)

Here is some news you can use.

Ramiro Pena has torn ligaments in his ankle, his season is over.

Jarrett Parker, who has missed past four games, has wrist soreness, didn't take BP yesterday. Return TBD

Thanks for the update. That takes one, possibly two guys in the running for Sept call ups out of that consideration. Too bad for Pena.
