Holy shit that's insane. So the Panther fans are going to have to spend hundreds to get across the country and back, another couple hundreds on food, shelter, gas, souvenirs, etc. plus that 3500? Fuuuuuuuuck that. Protest.

Far as the Super Bowl goes, not really. Its kinda become an elitist type event and as long as it shown on tv for free its all good.

Those Silicon Valley ass0s are fucking up San Francisco though w/o question. At one time it was my favorite big city. Thanks Ed Lee.....you fuckin dickhead, you. WTF is it with San Francisco politicians?

Superbowl gate has long been beyond the avg. Joe fan attending, but to the well heeled...dropping $10-12k on 2 seats for a bucket list trip is not that crazy.

I'll never attend a Superbowl in my lifetime, so it doesn't really bother me.

Bothers me more that the city is picking up the tab for the event when the NFL shits money and burns it for fun.

I didn't vote, because I didn't see this option:

No. It's being played in the NFL's newest stadium. Makes perfect sense.

No doubt the Google boys are driving the rents sky high. But what can they do? Build a wall around the city and keep everyone out?

Don't knock it until you've tried it.

I'm guessing :(

I can't imagine why anyone would care. The SB has been very expensive for years. If you're the sort of person that can generally afford the tickets, travel, lodging, etc. to go to a SB you're not going to give much thought to a ticket priced a bit higher. If you're not, then why do you care ?

The tickets always start out on the secondary market at roughly $3000 for the SB. The face price is close to $1000 usually. You may be able to get tickets closer to face value if you were outside the stadium and the game was already half way through the 1st quarter. A broker may take your $1000 instead of nothing.

What cracks me up is somewhere cheap like Motel 6 will literally be $750 a night. It's a $10,000 weekend trip for two.

Valid point, and maybe those dotcom ass0s would've came to the idea themselves eventually, but it at Lee's invitation/pitch that started the mass influx into Frisco. And don't get me wrong. I'm not a hater of upscale per se, but I'm if hangin out in or around Union Square and get an unction for a 24 dollar burger. I could take my ass to Morton's or just order room service from whichever hotel we're partying at/staying at and its on. I don't need to have 27 choices to choose from. Even more than that though, the vibe, soul, whatever you wanna call it, of the city is being stripped away.
