I get excited for the future when I see Jon Gillies robbing Cezch players with point blank chances.

Barber and Butcher score early for USA. Sadly, both Baker and Candlestickmaker were cut at camp.

Nice to see Hudson Fasching scoring a goal! He's got some potential for the Kings down the road

Russia beat Norway 11-0 earlier today.

Good lord. The difference between the Big 4 and the rest of the countries is pretty big. CAN/RUS/USA/SWE *large gaping ravine* Other countries that make the cut. Well, Finland is closer I suppose.

I wouldn't mind catching a Norway game...one of the Norway players is coming to the US to play juniors after the tournament. He's only 17 so its pretty impressive that he's on the Norway team even though they are pretty bad.

Is there a reason hockey is beginning to die out in Eastern Europe? Slovakia and Czech Republic were formidable teams once upon a time, now they don't have many players entering the draft and in these tournaments they don't seem to even come close to USA/Canada etc.
